We’re expanding Riot’s Entertainment (“REG”) team to bring our characters, stories, and worlds to players around the world in high impact ways. This team will imagine and develop new experiences and products across Film/TV, Animation, Narrative Driven Games, Consumer Products, Location Based Experience and beyond. We will foster collaboration with Games, Esports, and Publishing teams to deliver rich, cross-product experiences that deepen players' and fans' connections to our IP and to each other.

As Head of Live Events and Experiences, China Entertainment you will lead a team to plan, execute and produce large and small-scale events for live audiences within China and manage partnerships with agencies, production companies and venues to support execution of the global Riot LBE portfolio. In this role, you will work with the global live events and experience team to develop, create and execute concepts for a variety of events and experiences including live concerts, immersive experiences and theater, escape rooms, exhibitions and popups to help us build Riot into a world class live events brand with a demonstrable business impact across revenue, brand and IP recognition and player value.

Reporting to Global Head of Live Events and & Experiences, you will partner cross functionally and with external entities to further our Live Events and Experiences vision within the constraints of a sound business plan to also drive China Entertainment's wider business goals. Under the direction of the Global Head of Live Events and Experiences, you will manage appropriate vendors and agencies that can provide outstanding events/exhibits and products to our fans, and optimize monetization/cost controls whilst also delivering superior player value.


  • Strategy into Creative Concepts into Action: Work collaboratively within Riot and with external partners; understand and clearly translate creative concepts for varied experiential projects into detailed activation and business plans that further our strategic goals. Proactively identify new, unique, emerging spaces and experiences within China.

  • Live Events and Location Based Experiences: Work cross functionally and lead all aspects of pre-event development within China. Lead venue and vendor assessment, sourcing and selection of owned experiences. Oversee process with central team to Assess and evaluate licensing and partnership opportunities. Manage vendors and agencies across all production needs. Be an on-site producer across pre-production, on-site rehearsals, show and post event wrap up. Research, propose, and assist in selection of event sites, acquire permits & licenses, execute site checks. Oversee on-site builds. Travel as needed for event production

  • Quality Control: Ensure each event upholds the values of the Riot brand and player’s expectations, runs smoothly, is an excellent expression of the brand, and strengthens community bonds

  • Project Management/Operations: Oversee multiple projects and programs simultaneously within Market. Manage all deliverables and due dates across work streams, making sure they are clear to all parties. Be accountable for the quality and financial success of all projects including creating and adhering to KPI’s in partnership with the Senior Director, Global Event Strategy.

  • Relationship Management: Create and develop relationships with the industry, agents, production companies, creative agencies, promoters, vendors and governmental institutions required to execute at a world class level

  • People Management: Build and manage a team to create and realize event strategies.

  • Event Research and Development Work with Sr Director Global Events and Insights partners to execute research processes including market research, analyzing data to determine event feasibility and audience readiness.

  • Asset Creation - In partnership with the Entertainment Communications team, oversee the creation of all communication decks, recap decks/materials, reels, and award submission materia for associated projects.

  • Production Meetings – Establish regular cadence of meetings with key stakeholders and external partners to update progress.

Required Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience producing creative events with a solid background in operations including event management, production, logistics, and budgeting

  • 3+ years managing a team

  • Experience with large-scale, revenue generating events and immersive experiences

  • Strong knowledge/network within the China Live Event Ecosystem

  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment while multitasking, prioritizing projects, and communicating updates to internal and external customers

  • Experienced in leading projects with cross-functional teams, business partners and external vendors

  • Data-driven, budget-conscious, creative problem solver

  • Outstanding agency, promoter, vendor management and relationship building capabilities

  • Gaming Experience - Knowledge of our IP and gaming culture

  • Strong Organizational and Communication Skills – Creating and maintaining schedules, timelines, utilizing provided tools to ensure clear communication across teams.

  • Strong budget management skills - working to ensure projects are delivered on time and on budget

  • Understanding of all aspects event production including technical production

  • Empathetic, passionate leadership towards crafting outstanding experiences and running/mentoring an impactful team

  • Fluent in Mandarin and English languages

  • Travel including international travel would be required based on project scope.
