In collaboration with Lucasfilm, the Star Wars™ FPS Team is developing a new AAA FPS in the Star Wars™ galaxy. Inspired by classic titles like Dark Forces and Jedi Knight: Dark Forces 2, our story-driven single player game is being developed from the ground up leveraging the power of Unreal Engine 5. We’re combining this inspiration and technology with Respawn’s pedigree for making best-in-class shooters to deliver a brand new experience our players will love.

We are recruiting for a Senior UI Artist to join our growing team. Our ideal candidate will help establish the look and feel of our upcoming title's UI, with a focus on UI style. They have a strong generalist art foundation and a comprehensive understanding of design principles. They bring a wide range of skills, including graphic design, illustration, iconography, typography, and motion design. They have a good sense for visual hierarchy, color, and balance, and are able to create complete designs that take all elements into account. They're great at capturing the essence of a style, and matching that in their own work as they build out a library of art assets. Upon identifying the required style, they'll champion that style, both in their own work and in the critique phase of the work of others. They stay current on modern trends in 2d art, from within the game industry and also beyond it. And even though they're great at their craft, they're still looking for every good opportunity to become a better artist than they already are.

What you'll do:

  • Work closely with UX/UI lead and other artists to continue improving and solidifying the UI style of the game.

  • Work over UX wireframes to create full fidelity screen mockups.

  • Generate assets for menus, icons, buttons, backgrounds, top-down maps, etc.

  • Get your work critiqued and participate in the critique of others' work as well.

  • Create motion comps to guide UI FX implementation and at times direct other departments, such as VFX for in-world effects.

  • Create mockups to visualize various important gameplay beats that relate to UI.

  • Assist in development of world signage and other graphic design tasks.

Ideally, you will have:

  • 5+ years experience as an artist focusing on 2d art, for both conceptual and final asset production.

  • A strong portfolio of high quality UI art.

  • Shipped AAA game/s preferred but open for relevant level of experience outside of games.

  • Proficiency with various content creation programs, eg. Photoshop, Illustrator, Figma, and After Effects.

  • Experience implementing in the Unreal engine is a major plus.

The base salary ranges listed below are for the defined geographic market pay zones in these locations. If you reside outside of these locations, a recruiter will advise on the range and benefits for your specific location.

Pay offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and business or organizational needs.


  • California (depending on location e.g. Los Angeles vs. Sacramento): º $113,300 - $171,700 USD Annually

  • New York (depending on location e.g. Manhattan vs. Buffalo): º $111,500 - $171,700 USD Annually

  • Jersey City, NJ : º $126,700 - $171,700 USD Annually

  • Colorado (depending on location e.g. Denver vs. Colorado Springs): º $111,500 - $144,000 USD Annually

  • Washington (depending on location e.g. Seattle vs. Spokane): º $111,500 - $157,300 USD Annually

  • British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria): º $93,700 - $143,700 CAN Annually

Base salary is just one part of the overall compensation at EA. In the US, we offer a package of benefits including paid time off (3 weeks per year to start), 80 hours per year of sick time, 16 paid company holidays per year, 10 weeks paid time off to bond with baby, medical/dental/vision insurance, life insurance, disability insurance, and 401(k) to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity. For British Columbia, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
