Bluepoint Games has begun the exciting work of original development and seeks passionate, industry-leading talent to join our pursuit of consistently crafting Game of the Year quality experiences. Our studio is renowned for critically acclaimed titles that exceed what the world expects of us, most recently the PS4 remake of Shadow of the Colossus the PS5 launch title Demon's Souls.

As Lead Concept Artist, you’ll be responsible for generating a variety of industry leading AAA character concepts, environment concepts, matte paintings, design, and UI imagery to aid in the artistic development of a project. You’ll work with the development teams to create memorable environments along with unique and compelling characters that exude personality and style. You will use their artistic expertise in color, composition, shape, and visual design to help push visual style.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Art Director to help drive art style and evolve the vision of the project

  • Lead and mentor a team of concept artists

  • Provide timely and detailed feedback for the concept art team

  • Collaborate with the art team to implement and maintain the creative vision for the game

  • Ensure quality and consistency of assets by maintaining responsibility over your work throughout the development process

  • Coordinate with other art, design, and production teams to help accomplish the goals of the project

Qualifications

  • Excellent traditional artistic skills with a strong grasp of composition, anatomy, color theory, perspective, lighting, environment, architectural, character, costume and graphic design

  • Proficiency in life drawing as well as a strong imagination and willingness to push the envelope, and to innovate within the parameters of the game’s world

  • 7+ years of experience in the game industry working on AAA development

  • The ability to storyboard and help conceptualize character movement and VFX

  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to accurately estimate tasks and maintain schedules

  • Strong communication skills and understanding of various art disciplines (animation, character, environment, VFX)

  • A very strong understanding of characters and ability to push a variety of styles

  • A passion for gaming

At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role’s base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location. Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. This is a flexible role that can be remote, with varying pay ranges based on geographic location. For example, if you are based out of Seattle, the estimated base pay range for this role is listed below.

$128,400—$192,600 USD
