Based in the heart of Leamington Spa, Pixel Toys have spent over a decade pushing the capabilities of mobile gaming. We have developed multiple award-winning titles, including: Warhammer 40,000: Freeblade and Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Realm War. We’re now excited to be exclusively working on a new game, unlike ANYTHING we’ve done previously!

As a forward thinking and innovative studio we are always looking for new technologies and techniques to develop and use in our games and make them even more engaging experiences for our customers.

We are excited to continue to grow our team and are always on the lookout for highly talented and motivated individuals, who are passionate about gaming and excited to join us on our ambitious journey!

The Role:

We are excited to be recruiting for a Graduate/Associate Unity UI programmer to join us in creating our visually stunning, entertaining game on mobile devices.

As a Unity UI Programmer you will play a pivotal role, collaborating closely with discipline leads to establish industry-leading standards, define efficient processes and drive technological advancements.

Our dynamic environment offers you the opportunity to contribute your creative insights and ideas, actively shaping the development of cutting-edge, high-performance UI systems.

Your key responsibilities will involve collaborating with designers, artists and developers in order to implement and optimise UI/UX elements within Unity. You will also be responsible for the development and maintenance of user interfaces, menus and HUD elements, ensuring a visually appealing and immersive player experience while crafting responsive and user-friendly UI/UX solutions to elevate player engagement and retention.

In order to enrich the gameplay experience, you will implement and maintain UI animations, transitions, and visual effects. Your problem solving skills will be put to good use by identifying and resolving UI performance bottlenecks and compatibility issues across a wide range of mobile and tablet devices.

About you:

With relevant academic experience in the realm of games development you will already posses a strong foundation in Unity and C# programming, with a solid understanding of Unity as well as showing proficiency in coding processes, standards, and methodologies.

A genuine passion for game development and a knack for solving technical challenges, along with a positive and proactive demeanor will see you fitting in well with the wider team. You will also be effective in written and verbal communication, allowing for seamless collaboration across all disciplines.

You will also be committed to staying updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in UI/UX design and mobile game development, and as such should actively promote the adoption of new Unity technologies when applicable.
