DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
Edits in-game text, voice scripts, manual text, package copy, game summaries, and other materials as needed
Edits text and makes recommendations regarding grammar, spelling, style, voice, content, and consistency
Researches franchise history and fact-checks content
Creates and maintains department style guides, character sheets and other editorial guidelines
Edits manuals, packaging, websites, social media posts and other game-related consumer-facing content
Collaborates with proofreaders and copy editors to review game content consistently and efficiently
Collaborates with other editors by creating process efficiencies and leveraging resources
SUMMARY OF REQUIREMENTS
Minimum of two years related experience or professional editing certification
Native fluency in English and Brazilian Portuguese required.
Familiarity with French Canadian/Latin American history, culture and customs
Familiarity with localization/translation tools
Awareness and understanding of US, Latin American localization issues and market preferences
Undergraduate degree in required language, Linguistics, Translation, Communications, Journalism or equivalent experience
This position includes a base pay range of $33.92 - $50.87 per hour, potential for a semi-annual discretionary performance bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and paid time off.
