Niantic's Security Team seeks a senior security engineer to improve the security stance of our production environment and deployments. Niantic Engineering leads the advancement of AR and other immersive technologies while creating engaging apps for a user base in the billions. Responsibilities
You perform security reviews of our platform and production environments.
You offer consulting services for our product teams, corporate IT, and security operations.
You help build up hardened in-house OS images and configurations for deployment in virtual machines and Docker / Kubernetes.
You build out tooling and launch high impact efforts to support the engineering organization with security topics.
You lead vulnerability remediation of in-house and third-party software as related to deployed production environments.
You help educate site reliability engineers and software engineers in security concerns, codify deployment practices across teams.
You collaborate with the SRE team and engineering leadership on the rollout of security measures.
You provide creative solutions to improve Niantic's security.
Collaborate with cross-functional team members and stakeholders, including regular and reliable attendance and participation in meetings.
Required in-office 2 days on Tuesday and Thursday.
Qualifications
You can demonstrate strong programming skills in any of Go, Python, Java.
You have 5+ years of experience in a global company with cloud-centric infrastructure.
You have an in-depth understanding of Cloud technologies.
You have experience building out tooling, helping engineers and improving security.
Ability to work in a fast-paced hybrid environment and handle stress appropriately and/or ability to solve practical problems and be sufficiently adaptable to handle dynamic situations with little advance notice.
Experience working on cross-functional teams with ability to communicate effectively through written and verbal communications, including synchronous interactions with others.
Plus If...
You have experience in multi-cloud environments (e.g. AWS, Google Cloud).
You have software development or project management experience.
