We are looking for a Senior Analyst, Strategic Finance to become a key part of our Finance team and to support our growing Gaming and AR Platform initiatives. This candidate will partner with global business leaders across the company and use acuity to drive business decisions. This role will help to define and deliver metrics, analyses, forecasts, and finance support. A strong candidate will possess keen critical thinking and analytical abilities with strong communication and project management.

Niantic's Finance team ensures that the company succeeds in a competitive global market by working cross-functionally to keep the business running smoothly.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with US & Tokyo Game Studios and AR Platform teams to manage budgets and to drive insights, guidance, and recommendations on ongoing initiatives.

  • Develop a deep understanding of the Augmented Reality and Mobile Gaming industries to build financial models and drive cross functional alignment.

  • Partner with Engineering to drive greater transparency and optimization of our infrastructure unit economics and overall COGS spend that power our products.

  • Support annual planning, quarterly forecasting, monthly close, and board meetings while ensuring financial data accuracy and instilling rigor & process along the way.

  • Compile monthly budget versus actuals financial package and provide commentary on variances to highlight key risks and opportunities to the business.

  • Evaluate existing business processes and provide recommendations to drive efficiency and scalability.

  • Assist in ad hoc projects including preparation of board deck materials, modeling new products, pricing, fundraising, competitive intelligence, etc.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional team members and stakeholders, including regular and reliable attendance and participation in meetings.

  • Required in-office 2 days on Monday and Wednesday.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or similar with 3+ years of experience in investment banking, private equity, strategic finance, FP&A, or related quantitative fields.

  • Proficient in building financial models and executive presentations from scratch, using Excel / PowerPoint (or Google Suite).

  • Strong passion for technology & entertainment and an understanding of key financial and non-financial metrics.

  • Enthusiasm for Niantic games and shaping the future of Augmented Reality!

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced hybrid environment and handle stress appropriately and/or ability to solve practical problems and be sufficiently adaptable to handle dynamic situations with little advance notice.

  • Experience working on cross-functional teams with ability to communicate effectively through written and verbal communications, including synchronous interactions with others.

Plus If...

  • Experience at a high growth start-up, gaming, AR/VR, infrastructure, or similar technology sectors.

  • Experience with managing public cloud infrastructure spend (AWS, GCP, Azure, etc).

  • Experience with Adaptive Insights, NetSuite, or similar financial tools.

  • Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

The total compensation package for this position includes a new hire offer base salary range of $120,600 - $134,000 + bonus + equity + benefits.

Individual pay within this salary range is determined by work location and additional factors, including assessed job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
