Niantic is seeking a hard-working Data Scientist to join our team. As a Data Scientist, you will play a crucial role in supporting the development and growth of the game Pokémon GO. You will be responsible for analyzing and interpreting large datasets to provide valuable insights and recommendations to enhance the game's performance and user experience.
Responsibilities
Analyze and interpret complex datasets to identify patterns, trends, and opportunities for improving Pokémon GO's gameplay, engagement, and monetization.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, marketers and engineers, to define and prioritize data-driven objectives and strategies.
Create and deliver regular experiments, dashboards, and visualizations to communicate insights to stakeholders.
Develop and maintain data models, algorithms, and statistical models to support predictive analytics and forecasting.
Collaborate with the game engineering team to ensure data quality, integrity, and availability for analysis.
Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in data science and business intelligence.
Required in-office 2 days on Wednesday and Thursday.
Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or related disciplines).
Solid understanding of business intelligence concepts, methodologies, and best practices. Familiarity with Looker or similar business intelligence platforms is a plus.
Proven experience in data analysis, statistical modeling, and data visualization using tools such as Python, R, SQL, or similar.
Ability to translate complex data findings into actionable insights and recommendations.
Experience working on product growth and/or paid marketing is a nice plus.
Passion for gaming and familiarity with Pokémon GO or other Niantic games is highly desirable.
Ability to work in a fast-paced hybrid environment and handle stress appropriately and/or ability to solve practical problems and be sufficiently adaptable to handle dynamic situations with little advance notice.
Experience working on cross-functional teams with ability to communicate effectively through written and verbal communications, including synchronous interactions with others.

The total compensation package for this position includes a new hire offer base salary range of $151,000 - $176,000 + bonus + equity + benefits.
Individual pay within this salary range is determined by work location and additional factors, including assessed job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
