We are looking for a video game development Associate Art Director / Senior Concept Artist to lead the visual experience of some of our future Sims 4 offerings. You'll guide a clear aesthetic vision and promote it across our internal and partner organizations. You'll demonstrate a passion for what we do and the collaborative know-how to make dreams a reality. You will report to our European Senior Development Director and work closely with our North American Art Directors.
Responsibilities
Sell each offering's visual experience to partners both within and outside of our game development team.
Collaborate with team leadership to deliver important results for high-level goals.
Foster and inspire creativity that aligns to high-level, cross discipline goals within the team.
Author theme guides and present high-level documentation.
Provide constructive, relevant feedback to artists that aligns to the vision of the project while helping hone each artists' skills.
Grow artists to oversee high level goals and improve results, pipelines and processes.
Help develop partnerships with external outsourcing partners to ensure quality, consistency and delivery.
Collaborate with other Sims 4 Art Directors to develop content that compliments existing content.
Establish and convey the product's aesthetic vision through a wide array of concept art, guides and paint overs
Create quick sketches to support the visual communication with our art, animation, UX and game design teams
Requirements:
Experienced at establishing and pitching an art vision and guidelines
Accomplished in leading and inspiring teams of artists and advocating for execution from pre-production, production and into an evolving live service
Experienced in working with team partners to create content plans.
Experienced developing unique and visually appealing designs.
Traditional illustration skills in multiple media and excellent drawing skills.
Experienced with asset creation from start to finish.
A strong ability to think in 3D and interpret it through 2D illustrations.
Experienced at providing providing feedback and partnering with a variety of internal art/production/design disciples
Experienced providing feedback to outsourcing vendor artists
6+ years of concept experience and multiple shipped video game titles.
