We’re looking for an experienced Artist to join our development team and work alongside Rare. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership experience and a great foundation of knowledge in art content creation. The Art Manager will be leading Artists and working closely with Rare Art Managers and Producers to ensure a smooth development process.

Responsibilities:

  • Understanding the necessities for creating art content for Sea of Thieves.

  • Support and lead a team of artists and help them achieve their daily and weekly project requirements

  • Recruit, onboard and support new team members

  • Host regular 1:1 sessions and group art reviews/stand-ups.

  • Familiarise yourself with the Visual Art Direction materials and continuously update all documentation and materials when needed.

  • Act as representative for your team's work during Rare content reviews and effectively conveying any feedback to your team.

  • Investigate and provide accurate estimates for your team's content requirements.

  • Identify any skill gaps within the Art team and working with the Production and Recruitment team to resolve these.

  • Regularly schedule check-ins with Rare's Art Manager and Art Producer to address and resolve any potential issues.

Job requirements

Required experience:

  • Ability to problem solve, steer and course correct work in progress if necessary.

  • Understanding of all relevant art and project disciplines.

  • Experience mentoring and supporting Artists

Desired experience:

  • Worked on multiple published console or PC titles.

  • A track record of quality from your previous roles.

  • A passion for games of all genres.

Important:

The interview process for the Art Manager roles is made up of 2 stages:

  • First interview (45 - 60 minutes) – An interview to discuss your experience and working history relating to the position with members of our Senior Producer, Art Director and Associate Art Director. In return, we will provide a full overview of the role, life at the studio as well as answer any questions you may have.

  • Final interview (30 minutes) – A final Interview with our Studio Head and Studio Production Director. This will be a chance for you to get to know the Senior Management team and all the things that make Lucid, Lucid! You will have a lot of opportunities to ask any questions about the studio and Culture.
