Lakshya Digital is currently seeking a Lead Artist in Japan. Situated in India, our studio collaborates with numerous leading video game companies globally, including renowned Japanese game studios such as SQEX, Luminous, From Software, Capcom, among others, to craft exceptional art and animation for their gaming projects.

We are searching for experienced individuals to join our team and contribute to the development and operation of art production services within the Japan region.

Overall Responsibility

As a Lead Artist, you are expected to possess comprehensive and current technical knowledge, along with extensive production experience within the Japanese game industry. The role entails understanding project requirements and implementing appropriate strategies to guide the team toward achieving project objectives.

Key Responsibility

  • Lead the team under the supervision of the Japanese Art Director, collaborating closely with Project Managers (PMs) and Lead Artists to provide guidance and direction to the team.

  • Provide support to the art team as a leader with a strong understanding of Japanese language and art styles, facilitating effective communication and ensuring alignment with project goals.

  • Review art assets produced by the India team, identifying areas for improvement and correction. If necessary, intervene and apply hands-on adjustments to ensure the quality and consistency of the final deliverables.

Secondary Responsibility

  • Attend client meetings and provide technical support to the sales team as needed.

Required Skills/ Proficiencies & Qualification:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the Japanese game industry as a Character Artist.

  • Experience with environment art is considered a plus.

  • Proficiency in next-gen game content development processes, tools, and pipelines.

  • Strong communication skills, capable of effectively conveying the project’s vision and specific art direction across teams.

  • Self-motivated with the ability to thrive in a results-driven environment.

  • Excellent prioritization skills to manage competing tasks effectively.

  • Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.

  • Attention to detail and a commitment to meeting deadlines.

  • Native-level Japanese. Fluency in English is advantageous but not mandatory.
