Your role within our Kingdom

You will join our shared creative services team - Arthub! You will help in designing and creating amazing visual effects for Candy Crush. Whilst keeping the game stylistically consistent and appealing, you will be able to implement your own great ideas to make our games look dynamic and exciting for the player - working closely with other experienced artists, technical artists and developers. You will take part in building up the VFX community looking for opportunities to improve the VFX in- game but also develop and push the craft forward. This is an exciting opportunity to join a new team.

As a member of the Candy team you’ll participate in a cross- location and cross- team collaboration. We believe your communication and organisation skills will help you to champion our cooperation on features and information exchange among the teams.

Skills to Create Thrills

  • A creative person with a passion for games

  • You have experience in the game industry as a VFX artist

  • Good understanding of VFX fundamentals, including (but not limited to) timing, physics, motions, color theory, values, contrast, etc

  • Good proficiency in with Photoshop, 3D applications (Maya or 3D Studios Max) and particle editors, as well as AfterEffect or similar programs for pre- visualising VFX

  • You have knowledge of a wide and varied range of physical effects and a passion for interpreting them in a digital medium

  • Take ownership of tasks from Concept > Production > Implementation > Testing > Debugging

  • Adapting to and ensure VFX stays in line with Candy’s Game & Art Direction

  • Experience in utilising and adapting real time shaders and post processing effects

  • You can create original texture sprites and sprite sheets to create particle effects

  • Good knowledge in environmental effects, lighting and dynamics

  • Good technical expertise and familiarity with game engines and their performance requirements, experience of optimising VFX to run effectively on target hardware

  • Challenge and seek to improve VFX workflow & pipeline

  • Organize and collaborate cross- disciplinary to ensure your VFX strengthens the experience and gameplay as intended

  • An open mind and a collaborative attitude: embrace feedback, iterate your work, and share your knowledge with others

  • Comfortable working in English speaking environment

  • Proactive mindset in learning and taking ownership of your craft and career development

A portfolio in English demonstrating all aspects of your skill is required.

Tasty Bonus Skills

  • Ability to write scripts and actions to create VFX

  • Experience working in an agile project environment

  • Previous experience from creating casual and/or mobile games
