As a Level Designer at KAP Games, you'll be the creative expert in designing compelling user experiences across our game environments. Your work will be critical to capturing the core gameplay loop and player fantasy that our production team outlines, and you'll have the creative freedom to find novel ways of improving the player experience and level of immersion. You need a strong proficiency in working in Unity low-poly art environments, as well as prior experience shipping games in a team environment.

You'll join us at a critical juncture as we launch the next greatest cross-platform pirate adventure game and scale it to millions of players while leveraging emerging technology.

Responsibilities

* Design compelling environmental levels, vehicles (pirate ships), and player housing features

* Artistically interpret the core game loop and player fantasy directives from the production team

* Incorporate industry trends around level design & organic UI incorporation

* Communicate with cross-disciplinary art and software teams to ensure assets conform

* Work closely with the design and production team to inform project timelines

Required Qualifications

* 3+ years of working in Unity as part of a game development team as a level designer

* 2+ years of experience sculting and modeling in major 3D packages

* Exceptionally strong async communication skills

* "Gaming native" - you live inside the world of gaming and can empathize deeply with gamers' needs

Preferred Qualifications

* 2+ Unity titles shipped as a level designer

* Familiarity with blockchain gaming

* Familiarity with Linear, Discord, and Notion

* Connections with game fan groups, guilds, or other hobbyist collectives

Assignment

There will be a technical assessment as a part of the interview process after your resume is accepted during initial screening. The technical assessment will include designing a small vehicle and environment.
