[HCM, Investment VN] Investment Lead

The VN Investment team evaluates and supports promising game studios and early-stage game teams through Direct Equity (Direct Investment) and Incubation Program. Working at the intersection of investment, game development and startup building, the team partners closely with founders, game teams and internal experts. 

As the Investment Lead, you will lead the investment and finance workstream, turning promising opportunities into disciplined investment decisions and creating long-term value for the portfolio.

Responsibilities

Investment & Deal Ownership

• Own end-to-end investment analysis across Direct Equity Investment and Incubation Program, including screening founders and teams, assessing business models, market context, product/game potential and key risks.
• Lead financial modelling, valuation, scenario analysis and due diligence, translating findings into clear investment recommendations for early-stage game and technology startups.
• Support deal structuring and execution from term negotiation and closing through post-investment monitoring, follow-on/reinvestment and write-off analysis, while partnering with the Head of VN Investment and the team on sourcing.

Portfolio & Follow-on

• Review portfolio performance, cash position, milestones, product progress and key risks to identify follow-on investment opportunities and support needs.
• Work with portfolio teams to understand business, product and operational challenges, and recommend relevant actions or resources.
• Build and manage a network of experts, mentors and partners, connecting teams with appropriate internal and external support and following up on collaborations.

Incubation Finance

• Assess CLA terms, milestone-based payout structures and the financial readiness of Incubation teams for equity investment.
• Develop practical financial criteria and tracking mechanisms to evaluate progress against milestones and support payout and equity-related decisions.
• Customize valuation, forecasting and financial frameworks for small, early-stage deals where historical data and standard benchmarks may be limited.

Requirements

Who We’re Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field
• 3+ years relevant experience in finance/investment, preferably Venture Capital, Private Equity, Investment Banking or Consulting firm.
• Experience working with startups, technology companies, or early-stage businesses
• Financial Modelling & Valuation: Strong financial modelling, valuation, and financial analysis skills — including selecting and customizing valuation methods for small, early-stage deals.
• Financial Literacy: Able to read and interpret financial statements, cash flow, and operating metrics.
• Deal Process Knowledge: Understand the end-to-end deal process: due diligence, deal terms, and closing.
• Early-Stage Investment Structures: Experience with CLA/convertible instruments, cap tables, equity structuring, follow-on and write-off analysis.
• Investment Operations: Experience building or operating investment SOPs and screening frameworks.
• Analytical Rigor: Sharp and rigorous analytical mindset with strong investment judgment.
• Problem Solving & Decision Making: Able to break down ambiguous, incomplete-data situations into structured investment questions; weighs trade-offs and risks to reach sound, well-reasoned decisions under uncertainty.
• Ownership Mindset: High ownership — takes full responsibility for the quality of analysis and the decision-making process.
• Interest in Gaming: Genuine curiosity about games and willingness to understand the game business; hardcore gaming experience not required.
