Manager, Refurbishment Operations

The Manager, Refurbishment Operations manages and leads one or more of Refurbishment’s core businesses (for example, Hardware or Software Refurbishment). This position drafts strategies that allow for maximized profits. In addition, the Manager analyzes the performance of the team, driving and measuring process improvements throughout their department, and ensuring functional and service expectations are achieved or exceeded. This position works under the guidance of a director, interacting with him / her several times a week to receive feedback and direction.
This position sits onsite 5 days a week in Grapevine, TX.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the activities of one or more of Refurb’s businesses, including those of the area supervisors, in order to meet established objectives and goals.
- Define and improve processes, standards, and guidelines for one or more Refurb’s departments; create implementation plans for new strategies developed by executive leadership.
- Develop and execute process improvement strategies for assigned areas within Refurb.
- Minimize expenses and maximize process output and accuracy using Lean Manufacturing or other analytical tools.
- Cultivate teamwork and create a culture of continuous improvement by analyzing and collecting data from regular operations.
- Manage a group of associates that consists of 2 to 5 supervisors and 50 to 200 non-exempt employees and serve as a leader / mentor to the team.
- Create reports on departmental performance and communicate key metrics / findings to management and team.
- Interview, hire, and develop associates, providing coaching and guidance as needed to allow for maximum performance of the individual and team.
- Communicate all issues to management that could result in process delays, safety issues, or otherwise cause a loss to the company or its associates.
- Consistent with the general nature of this role, work collaboratively with others throughout the Refurbishment and Distribution Centers to achieve or exceed department objectives.
- Follow all known safety procedures and utilize good operational, loss prevention and safety judgment at all times.

Basic Qualifications
- Accredited Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations or Business Administration required. Industrial or Mechanical Engineering degree preferred
- At least 3 years of experience in a supervisory or management role within a manufacturing, distribution center, or similar environment required; at least 2 years of experience as a Manager in a distribution center or manufacturing environment preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Working knowledge of process improvement tools (Lean, Kaizen, 5S, DMAIC, TPM, workflow mapping)
- Proficient ability to communicate effectively with others using spoken and written English; bilingual English/Spanish communication skills preferred
- Proficient knowledge of Windows-based business computers and Microsoft Office programs; specifically, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word
- Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with others; conducts working relationships in a manner acceptable to others and to the organization
- Ability to assertively solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Demonstrated capacity for gathering and scrutinizing data to identify issues, opportunities, patterns, and sustainable business solutions
- Ability to effectively coach, develop, retain, train, hire, and discipline others in order to produce a successful team
- Proficient project planning skills, including the ability to organize, prioritize and control job responsibilities in order to meet deadlines in an environment with overlapping and potentially conflicting priorities
- Possess the learning capacity to receive and apply cross-functional training; willingness to assist other functions and work groups as needed so the department achieves or exceeds its overall business objectives
- Proficient relationship building skills, including the capacity to predict and manage behavior, build and leverage cross-functional partnerships within and outside of the organization, and leverage influential leadership
