GameSim provides full development and co-developer services for Console, Desktop, Mobile, and Web-based Games. GameSim has the staff to provide complete title development. Additionally, GameSim can work as a co-developer, augmenting existing game teams. Whether a publisher needs a full title developed or an internal team augmented with a few resource gaps–GameSim can deliver.

The Senior Software Engineer will be responsible for designing and implementing game features and systems using multiple languages such as C++, C#, JavaScript, Python, Lua. Should be familiar with most public engines such as Unity and Unreal Engine. This individual will work with a team of developers to create high-quality, engaging, and performant games for various platforms. They will also help with career growth plans for Junior engineers, working with them on skill, personal, and career growth.

Some of the cool stuff you'll be doing

  • Design and implement game features and systems.

  • Collaborate with/Lead other developers, designers, and artists to create high-quality, engaging, and performant games.

  • Optimize game performance and troubleshoot technical issues.

  • Mentor and guide junior developers on their engineering skills as well as their career path.

  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in game development and technology.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience developing advanced software.

  • Strong experience with multiple languages and engines.

  • Proven track record of shipping high-quality, engaging, and performant games or features.

  • Experience with game physics, rendering, animation, and/or networking.

  • Strong understanding of computer science principles and data structures.

  • Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.

  • Located in Austin, TX or willing to relocate.

    Nice to have

  • Experience with other game engines such as CryEngine, Frostbyte, or Creation Engine.

  • Experience with game development on console platforms like Switch or Playstation.
