Job Description

As a team leader, you'll steer a skilled group of programmers who are dedicated to developing the technologies essential for crafting the games that Gameloft enthusiasts expect. Your expertise in technology, leadership abilities, and decision-making skills will be key to achieving your goals. You will approach your work with enthusiasm and pride.

Motivated by a passion for your team's success, you will foster their professional growth by prioritizing their well-being, representing them in discussions with other teams and management, and ensuring each member is in a role that excites them and allows them to excel.

Your comprehensive insight and thorough knowledge of each team member's contributions will enable you to effectively coordinate tasks and amplify the outcomes of everyone's efforts. You are most inspired by witnessing your team's development and their delivery of reliable, high-quality systems that contribute to the immersive gaming experiences our players expect.

Key Responsibilities

  • In collaboration with the tech lead, assign tasks and monitor the progress of the project during team meetings.

  • Ensure your team has the necessary tools they need to work and contribute to the technological vision of the project.

  • Hold one-on-one meetings with each team member to review their performance, discuss their well-being, and explore opportunities for career growth.

  • Review significant bugs and identify the most effective solutions for resolving them.

  • Maintain regular communication with leaders from other disciplines to plan proactively, evaluate risks, and ensure timely delivery.

  • Code alongside your team members when necessary.

  • Keep your project lead updated on the progress of your assignments and meet with leads from your own and other projects to explore ways to enhance processes and share technologies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, game development, or a related field

  • At least 5 years of proven experience in game programming, with a portfolio showcasing completed projects

  • Excellent organization, problem-solving and debugging skills

  • Ability to work effectively in a team and to communicate technical concepts

  • Passion for games and an understanding of game design principles
