Job Description

Gameloft is actively seeking a highly skilled Technical Artist to join our dynamic cross-functional team. In this role, you'll collaborate on thrilling upcoming cross-platform games featuring major IPs, making significant contributions to our projects.

Responsibilities

  • Be a bridge between artists and programmers.

  • Work closely within the tech art team, with team leads, producers, and art director.

  • Inform teams of foreseeable issues and technical limitations as relevant to art direction.

  • Research and prototype techniques for chosen art direction.

  • Find creative solutions to realize artistic visions within the technical limits of the target platforms.

  • Design, build, and maintain art content pipelines.

  • Develop scripts and tools for artists to optimize their workflow.

  • Work on a wide range of games, with a variety of technologies and game engines.

Qualifications

  • Strong understanding 3D applications, Maya, Zbrush, Substance Painter and Photoshop.

  • An excellent understanding of the 3D pipeline for getting assets into a game engine.

  • Excellent knowledge of modelling, skinning and UV’s in Maya.

  • Knowledge of games engines and how they work internally.

  • Understanding and experience of device limitations and challenges.

  • Enjoy working across multiple disciplines.

  • Capability of conveying important information to all relevant departments in the work including designers, graphics programmers, production staff, and Lead artists.

  • Bonus: Knowledge of Unreal Engine.
