Tools Programmer Intern - Virtual Production

What You'll Do

Epic Games Unreal Engine Virtual Production Development Team is looking for a smart, creative QA Automation Programmer Intern to join them for 2023. This team is responsible for enhancing and maintaining virtual production systems of Unreal Engine, including performance capture, camera tracking and calibration, ICVFX, VR scouting, virtual camera, Multi-User Editing, Media I/O, OpenColorIO. You will work directly with the brightest technical minds in the business as we build the premier game engine for a multitude of platforms.

In this role, you will

  • Create automated tests for Virtual Production tools.

  • Improve the QA testing framework at Epic Games.

  • Work closely with the Virtual Production team members.

  • Investigate and fix bugs.

What we're looking for

  • Strong C++ knowledge.

  • Experience creating test automation for C++ based applications.

  • Python/C# familiarity is a plus.

  • Solid communication skills and strong work ethic.

  • Game engine fundamentals, Unreal Engine experience a plus.

  • Knowledge of software quality standards and best practices.

  • Knowledge of testing tools and frameworks.

  • Experience with core system tasks, such as graphics, audio/video, networking, memory handling, I/O, etc.

  • Preference for experience with virtual production.

  • We would like to see samples of your technical work online (Github, personal site, etc.)
