What You'll Do

Epic Games, Inc. seeks a Lead Rendering Programmer in San Diego, CA to lead a graphics programming team.

In this role, you will

  • Enhance and maintain the rendering capabilities of Unreal Engine 5 with a focus on real-time ray tracing techniques.

  • Optimize performance of features on multiple platforms (especially consoles) and across games and enterprise applications.

  • Answer technical questions from licensees to include writing technical documentation and delivering presentations, internal design discussions, and teaching content teams how to use code features.

  • Identify technical and developmental risks and obstacles and planning, generating and implementing solutions.

  • Keep up to date on current techniques, research, graphics data, hardware.

What we’re looking for

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, plus 4 years of experience in related occupations.

  • Requires four 4 years of experience in the following:

    • Developing game engine technology using C++; graphics APIs;

    • Shader languages including DirectX/HLSL;

    • Low level graphics APIs including DirectX 11/12, Vulkan, and console APIs;

    • 3D rendering algorithms and data structures; multithreaded systems;

    • Optimizing system performance.

California Base Pay Range

$209,399—$307,119 USD
