(This is a 1 year contract position)

Development and Release Engineering (DRE), are EA’s global Continuous Integration (CI) specialists. We are a team of more than 100 staff based in fifteen EA studios around the world.

DRE is the automation oil for the EA game production engine, integrating technical components and dependencies from partner teams to produce playable builds. We partner with Quality Verification, IT, Security, Cloud providers, Engine providers and other teams to simplify CI for game creators.

You will be reporting to a DRE Engineering Manager and working with your peers to provide excellent services to our partner teams at EA Vancouver.


  • Work as a technical liaison with development teams to address build issues and improvements

  • Work with our internal customers on designing, implementing and maintaining automation pipelines in our CI system (Jenkins)

  • Monitor and analyze automation systems to resolve performance bottlenecks and respond to breakages

  • Manage virtual infrastructure, including deploying and monitoring VMs/Containers

  • Maintain the product backlog including tasks and their priorities


  • Creative, curious, and motivated to grow your technical abilities

  • Experience discussing technical topics with both technical and non-technical audiences both verbally and through written communications

  • Experience collaborating and working in team environments

  • Experience working within deadlines and reporting progress of work

  • 3+ years experience or education in software development, or related field

  • Excellent understanding of software engineering and debugging concepts

  • Experience with designing, implementing and maintaining automation in CI systems (e.g. Jenkins, GitLab CI)

  • Experience with scripting languages (e.g. Groovy, Python, PowerShell, Batch, Bash)

  • Experience with source-control systems (e.g. Perforce, Git)

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with large-scale, high-availability, high-throughput automation systems

  • Experience with object-oriented languages (e.g. Java, C++, C#)

  • Experience with containerization technologies (e.g Docker, Kubernetes)

  • Experience working within a cloud environment (e.g. Azure, AWS)

  • Experience working with Infrastructure-as-Code (e.g. Terraform, Chef, Ansible)

  • Experience with metrics gathering and visualization tools (e.g. ElasticSearch, Kibana, Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk)

  • Experience with secrets management tools (e.g. Hashicorp Vault)

  • Experience working with gaming consoles


The base salary ranges listed below are for the defined geographic market pay zones in these locations. If you reside outside of these locations, a recruiter will advise on the base salary range and benefits for your specific location. EA has listed the base salary ranges it in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in the locations listed, as of the time of this posting. Salary offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and business or organizational needs.


  • British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria): º $79,900 - $111,900 CAN Annually

Base salary is just one part of the overall compensation at EA. We also offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
