Senior Visual Effects Artist

An Senior Visual Effects Artist, works on a specific project under the direction of VFX Director and Development Director. You will prototype and create Visual Effects for real-time use in games. You will work with other Artists, Art Directors, Engineers and Producers, to create visual effects that immerse players in the experience. You should understand motion, physics, color theory, and animation and use all of those to create compelling effects that wow the player.

Responsibilities

  • Bring life and excitement to the game through your design and implementation of compelling realistic visual effects.

  • Create industry-leading and stunning visual effects for our games, cinematic moments

  • Coordinate with Art, Design and Animation to understand requirements and ensure VFX match the quality bar and vision for the game.

  • You will implement, polish, and refine your work based on feedback, concept and direction and communicate the best process and technique to the VFX team.

  • Fix FX related bugs, including performance and budget issues.

  • Explore, recommend and implement new techniques, tools, and workflows that improve quality and efficiency

  • Help improve technical pipelines and VFX creation techniques/tools.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years' experience as a real-time FX artist on shipped title or professional projects

  • Understanding of real-time VFX pipeline

  • Game Engine Experience (Commercial or Proprietary)

  • Proficient in crafting high quality, optimized VFX assets for environments, characters, vehicles, gameplay and cinematics in game

  • Proficient in using Houdini, Maya or any equivalent DCC tools, for 3D authoring and fluid sim packages to generate source textures and models

  • Understand basic mathematics and physics for 3d rendering and particle control

  • Sense of lighting, color, form and timing

  • Both technical and creative with a artistic vision

Bonus:

  • Worked/Shipped AAA Game Titles

  • Proficiency in English

  • Visual effects pipeline build experience

  • Programming or scripting experience (HLSL, Python, ..etc)
