The Insider Threat Engineer is a senior technical security position that plays an important role in security risk management across EA. You will have 2 main goals:

(a) Working with partners in EA Security and Games Studios to improve capabilities and processes to prevent, detect and investigate insider and associated exfil/leaks.

(b) Leading all insider and major leak investigations across EA to closure. Collaborate with studios and the wider incident response and threat intelligence teams.

During insider and major leak incidents you are required to coordinate with partners such as development studios, Legal, People Practices, and other appropriate teams to gather incident details, assess impact, and coordinate response across EA.

You must effectively communicate with different audiences within the Security and the wider business community. You will report to the Senior Director of GRC and Production Security.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Implement an insider and leak investigation strategy. Socialize and work with partner teams including EA Security teams, Legal, People Practices and games studios to complete the required people, process and tech components of the strategy.

  • Assemble and partner with technical teams, stakeholders, legal team and third-party vendors to resolve insider/major leak investigations as efficiently as possible. You will lead all related meetings and calls while supervising staff supporting the investigation work.

  • Establish a streamlined intake process and clear criteria for handling reports of potential insider leaks.

  • Partner with Engineering, IT and Games Studios on data source and logging requirements for insider threat investigations and strategy.

  • Communicate the status of response, resolution and final root cause analysis of insider and leaks to EA Security and business executives.

  • Collaborate with Legal and People Practices to identify leakers and comply with documentation requirements.

  • Engineer tools and other improvements that accelerate and automate leak detection and response.

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

  • Must have a minimum of 4 years' hands on experience in incident response and related investigations.

  • Must have thorough knowledge of information security components, principles, practices, and procedures and application of them during a security incident.

  • Must have a holistic understanding of insider and leak vectors, current security threats, and remediation strategies.

  • Experience with host and network based forensics analysis and associated practices, procedures and evidence handling.

  • Experience in leading meetings, dividing responsibilities, and influencing people to take action in insider/leak investigations.

  • Must have knowledge of General IT architecture infrastructure, web application, and internet security along with a general understanding of common operating systems, networking protocols, database, and application development.

  • Understand legal and regulatory requirements and business risk, and to integrate these into the Insider and Leak Strategy.

  • Experience writing concise investigative reports and leading meetings with executives and staff in different roles throughout the organization.

Additional Requirements

  • Limited travel to other EA locations to support security incidents.

  • You must coordinate between several departments and executives to accomplish effective security incident response.

  • Perform activities ranging from executive/strategic to detailed/analytical.
