We have an interdisciplinary experience team in our Fan Growth organization tasked with shaping the experience strategy to reduce friction and deepen engagement with our fans. This team – in deep collaboration with colleagues in product management, studio development, marketing, engineering, data science, service delivery, and more – uses human-centered design methods to understand the needs and motivations of our players and bring solutions to life.
The Design Technologist is a remote-friendly role reporting to the Senior Manager, Service Design and Research. You own design system processes, prototype new components and experiences, and work with designers and engineers to keep the design system running.
Transfer and document patterns and components in Figma, Storybook and Frontify
Manage day to day of design system operations, including backlog and release process
Create and document the QA workflows on the design side to ensure pixel perfect and technically possible designs
Build components and work with development team to integrate
Prototype live coded prototypes to test
Work with engineering teams to ensure components are implemented properly
Standardize documentation guidelines and set up documentation and workflows
Conduct and improve processes across engineering, design, content and publishing
Lead design system governance in a cross-functional council
Mentor junior design technologist
Qualifications:
Degree in visual design or technical field such as Computer Sciences, Engineering, Human-Computer Interaction, Design, or related disciplines; or equivalent experience
5+ years experience as a technologist with design systems
Project management skills
Experience design and prototyping with Figma
Experience programming with React
Experience working cross-functionally with design, engineering, research, and data partners.
Experience mentoring junior technologists, engineers or designers.
US COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
The base salary ranges listed below are for the defined geographic market pay zones in these states. If you reside outside of these locations, a recruiter will advise on the base salary range and benefits for your specific location. Salary offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and business or organizational needs.
BASE SALARY RANGES
California (depending on location e.g. Los Angeles vs. Sacramento): º $140,700 - $204,700 USD Annually
New York (depending on location e.g. Manhattan vs. Buffalo): º $125,300 - $204,700 USD Annually
Jersey City, NJ : º $164,800 - $204,700 USD Annually
Colorado (depending on location e.g. Denver vs. Colorado Springs): º $131,000 - $174,800 USD Annually
Washington (depending on location e.g. Seattle vs. Spokane): º $125,300 - $198,100 USD Annually
Base salary is just one part of the overall compensation at EA. We also offer a package of benefits including paid time off (3 weeks per year to start), 80 hours per year of sick time, 16 paid company holidays per year, medical/dental/vision insurance, life insurance, disability insurance, and 401(k) to temporary full-time employees scheduled to work full time.
