Department Overview:
The Global Royalty Accounting team manages all worldwide licensing and development contracts pertaining to product development for all Studios and other third parties. Our direct internal partners include Studio Finance, Corporate Finance, Financial Planning & Analysis, Business Affairs and Legal. The group manages over 800 contracts. Our mission is to affect profitable business strategies and to influence the adoption of best practices in license and developer agreements by designing and leading royalty processes and by providing insights.
Primary Responsibilities:
Manage one direct report.
Responsible for the accurate review, interpretation and set-up of licensing and development contracts. This includes:
Interpreting contractual terms and conditions
Setting-up & updating contracts in the Alliant Royalty System
Assessing capitalization feasibility as it pertains to EA’s Policy
Analyzing effective versus contractual royalty rates
Calculating development expensed advance amortization
Participate in the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes & analysis
Assist on compilation of management reporting packages & analysis
Ensure 100% compliance with all financial commitments and obligations. This includes:
Prepaid advances
Development milestone payments
Minimum guarantees
Royalty statements and disbursements
Responsible for reconciliation of Prepaid Royalties and Royalty Payable Accounts
Responsible for the accurate preparation and distribution of assigned Royalty Accounting reports to business partners
Participate and present in monthly close meetings
Prepare and maintain assigned audit schedules
Participate in forecasting and annual planning process for royalties
Assess Royalty Accounting processes, procedures and policies on a continuous basis and make recommendations where appropriate for process improvements
Responsible for enhancing Royalty Accounting’s relationships with internal and external business partners
Special projects as assigned, these include, but are not limited to ad hoc reports, 3rd party audits, support new initiatives, system implementation or upgrade
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting (CPA or MBA a plus)
Minimum of 6+ years of accounting experience
US GAAP experience
People management experience, including hiring, training (mentoring a plus)
Royalty accounting experience a plus
System administration or superuser experience a plus
Other Behaviors / Competencies:
Hybrid work model (3-day per week onsite minimum)
During close and peak periods flexibility in working hours and weekend work may be needed

BC COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
The base salary ranges listed below are for the defined geographic market pay zones in these locations. Salary offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and business or organizational needs.
BASE SALARY RANGES
British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria): º $77,600 - $119,000 CAN Annually
Base salary is just one part of the overall compensation at EA. We also offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
