As the Manager I, Accounting, your primary responsibility is the North America close and global reporting process. You will also provide accounting guidance to partners, support the external and internal audit functions, and review contracts among the other notable responsibilities. You will work in a hybrid capacity from our EA Vancouver office, and will report to the Senior Manager, Accounting. You have a desire develop teams as you will lead a team of three direct reports.

You will support our monthly close process in the following ways:

  • Partner with Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) and other teams.

  • Perform contract reviews for agreements > $3M noting classification, recognition and treatment of the expense, payment terms and commitments. Oversee reviews >$1M and < $3M.

  • Review and record all relevant accruals, prepaids and reclasses for items that meet policy or have a material impact to actuals.

  • Review reconciliations in Cadency (reconciliation application) for the applicable balance sheet accounts.

  • Train/onboard FP&A and other partners in accounting treatment of the recognition and classification of transactions specifically expenses and assets/liabilities

You will support our reporting process in the following ways:

  • World-wide monthly review, analysis and presentation of financial statements versus forecast & actuals including supplementary schedules.

  • North America monthly review, analysis and presentation of financial statements versus forecast & actuals including supplementary schedules.

  • Quarterly presentation of financial statements and supplementary schedules to CFO/CAO.

  • Lead the monthly review meetings for financial statements with the relevant business teams.

All Other Requirements:

  • You will support our external auditors by providing schedules, analysis and responses to queries.

  • You will partner with our Global Audit team in maintaining controls and certifications.

  • You will be subject matter expert on reporting environments and analytical tools

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 5+ years relevant accounting experience

  • Knowledge of U.S. GAAP accounting and reporting

  • Previous supervisory / team management experience

  • Experience with EA financial systems (e.g. Power BI, Hyperion Financial Management “HFM”, Oracle)

  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft excel (can perform complex functions)

BC COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

The base salary ranges listed below are for the defined geographic market pay zones in these locations. If you reside outside of these locations, a recruiter will advise on the base salary range and benefits for your specific location. Salary offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and business or organizational needs.

BASE SALARY RANGES

  • British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria):º $77,600 - $119,000 CAN Annually

Base salary is just one part of the overall compensation at EA. We also offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
