Purpose of the Role

Check quality of the localized products following EA procedures and requirements

Main Responsibilities

  • Respect EA security procedures

Testing

  • Perform a full review of the product, detect localization issues within deadline. Fix in the Database those fixable through text changes and report and regress the others.

  • Make sure that no guideline related issue remains in the assessed product and report/fix them as early as possible.

  • Ensure correct write-up of bugs and proposed corrections to facilitate bug fixing for studios.

  • Follow testing and reporting processes, prepare, and deliver fully filled daily reports within deadline.

  • Inform of any issue that may slow down or stop the LT progress as early as possible.

  • Provide feedback on the quality of translations through the appropriate channels (Weekly Mosaic TLS, TES, QEs…). Raise promptly any severe linguistic issue.

  • Perform any additional assets review and fixing (Text, Audio scripts, Recorded Audio Reviews, Art check, Documentation, Videos, Newsletters, Websites, Banners).

  • Participate in all the different steps to ensure the best quality in the localized audio (castings, remote recording attendance, pronunciation guides…).

  • You will be the main POC for the TFT testers in the language team.

  • Maintain strong teamwork within the team.

  • Perform localization test in development studios, complying with local rules and procedures.

  • Perform content generation with language agnostic automation tools

Language team

  • Participate in recruitment test creation and review.

  • Participate in recruitment.

  • Participate in training material creation.

  • Training/coaching of TFT testers.

  • Support the Linguistic Expert of their language when applicable.

  • You will act as the linguistic POC if their language is missing a Linguistic Expert.

Department

  • Suggest us processes and tools improvements that will help achieve optimal localization quality in the most efficient way.

  • You will report to the Linguistic Team Lead.

Special Considerations

Localization is a dynamic area where there are peak periods of activity (April – November) and therefore the workload and the make-up of teams vary. It is necessary that the you have past experience of working in a team environment of constant change.

Skills Required

  • At least 2 years experience in the Localization or QA industry

  • Excellent mother tongue and English skills. Fluent both written and orally in both languages

  • Advanced or in-depth knowledge of Microsoft Windows environment

  • Demonstrate knowledge of the video games industry

  • Demonstrate knowledge of video game platforms (PC, consoles & software)

  • Demonstrate an organized, structured approach to testing task with eye for details

Knowledge Preferred – Previous Experience

  • Experience of similar role

  • Experience working in a multi-site/cultural team

  • Knowledge of EA LOC tools (Jira, DevTrack, Mosaic, Pattern, HAL, EAGLE, Jaas…).

  • Knowledge of EA franchises
