The Lead Product Designer at EA reporting to the Senior Manager of Product Design, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our Digital Experiences ecosystem. The Lead Product Designer leads the design strategy for digital experiences on the whole. The Lead Designer builds the design vision and ensures high quality in all discovery, user interactions and design systems within the project. The person in this position will be expected to not only generate solid design in the form of a structured framework and systems, but also ensure that the vision is clear and inspirational to the team. There will be an expectation of very good communication and presentation skills. This is a major opportunity to contribute creatively on many experiences across EA.

You will be at the forefront of designing user-centric experiences for our new web platform and other digital initiatives. We're looking for a creative and experienced Lead Designer who is not only passionate about gaming but also possesses the ability to think critically, solve complex design problems, and collaborate effectively within a dynamic team environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the other members of the team leadership group in setting the high level design vision for the product.

  • Generate high quality and inspirational design across the single player experience to a level actionable by development staff.

  • Generate and guide design for our web platform, in-game experiences and innovation projects.

  • Providing mentorship and training to the Design Team so that they may fulfill their roles to a high standard.

  • Provide regular, detailed and actionable feedback and guidance to the development team.

  • Support, demand and drive the iterative process to ensure the highest quality designs

  • Lead the design team through development of a product by providing clarity on overall design system structure & direction.

  • Work closely with the Manager of Product Design and our Engineering Leads

You'll also bring the following skills or experiences to our team:

  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in product design, with a strong portfolio showcasing your work on web platforms, apps, or related digital products. Complete UX understanding: problem discovery, solution generation, concept creation, wireframing, testing, synthesis, iteration, prototyping, competitive analysis, customer journey mapping, applying design systems and producing deliverables for development.

  • Strong understanding of enterprise content management systems, design systems, consumer-facing products, and multi-destination publishing platforms (create once, publish everywhere).

  • Deep understanding of user-centered design principles, interaction design, and information architecture.

  • Expert knowledge of design and prototyping tools like Figma or others.

  • General awareness of web and mobile technology (i.e., JavaScript, HTML/CSS).

  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think creatively and strategically to design intuitive and visually appealing solutions.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams.

  • Experience with design systems, demonstrating the ability to create and maintain consistent design patterns and guidelines.

  • Passion for gaming and a keen interest in exploring innovative design approaches within the gaming industry.

  • Experience in Multi Platform Interface Design such as: Gaming consoles, Web ecosystems, VR & AR and Native IOS and Android apps is a plus.

Management Skills:

  • Strong communication and presentation skills.

  • Must have good personal skills to bridge between multiple departments.

  • Must be able to set clear assignments and actionable feedback for the design team.

  • Must be able to sell the design vision both internally and externally.

  • Ability to mentor designers of all experience levels.

BC COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

The base salary ranges listed below are for the defined geographic market pay zones in these locations. If you reside outside of these locations, a recruiter will advise on the base salary range and benefits for your specific location.

EA has listed the base salary ranges it in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in the locations listed, as of the time of this posting. Salary offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and business or organizational needs.

BASE SALARY RANGES

  • British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria): ΒΊ $93,700 - $153,900 CAN Annually

Base salary is just one part of the overall compensation at EA. We also offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity. "
