Frostbite is EA's state-of-the-art multi-platform game development engine, powering games such as Battlefield, FIFA, Madden, Plants vs. Zombies, Need for Speed, Anthem, and Star Wars Battlefront II.

We are looking for a Engineering Manager for one of the teams in Procedural and Meshes Product Area of Frostbite

The mission of the Procedural & Meshes team is to develop state-of-the-art procedural tools and workflows to help game teams around the world build bigger and better games.

What you will do as a Frostbite Procedural Engineering Manager

Reporting to the Procedural and Meshes Director of Engineering, you will manage a group of engineers in the Procedural and Meshes Product Area, a culturally diverse and geographically distributed (Canada, UK, Romania) team of software engineers.

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for one or multiple teams & manager of team(s) members

  • Hiring manager - You hire the right talent and onboard new team members

  • Software Engineering Leader - You know how to develop quality software and know if the current plan/work is on track.

  • You will work in distributed/remote development across multiple locations and managing people remotely.

  • You know how to get the best out of a diverse team of people even when delivery pressure is high.

  • You lead your team to accomplish agreed upon commitments including features and performance measures

  • You coach and grow individuals by providing positive and constructive feedback

  • You coach the team to increase collaboration, code quality, and best practices

  • You create a learning culture to grow the team's ability to sustainable achieve the teams goals

  • You monitor workload and coach team members on handling stress

  • You recognize efforts that contribute to the team and the business

We're looking for

  • Leadership experience in a high-tech company

  • Recent experience in C++ or C# development

  • 2+ years leading software teams

  • Understanding of different models of software development lifecycles

  • Good knowledge of collaborative tools such as the Atlassian toolchain

  • Understand the value of a healthy work environment
