We are seeking a QA lead with a passion for quality to join the Battlefield QV Campaign Dev QV team. In this role, you will collaborate closely with Development and QV stakeholders across Battlefield to enhance communication and knowledge sharing while continuously improving our QV processes.

Role Overview

As a QA Development Manager for Battlefield in the Development QV team, you will oversee QA project planning and execution within the Dev QV team. You will coordinate schedules, budgets, test strategies, and project metrics, and facilitate knowledge transfer and communication with the game team and stakeholders. Partnering with QV leaders, you will enhance QA practices, share expertise, and advocate for superior game design and implementation. You will report to the Criterion QV Development Director.

Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Oversee operational delivery of major aspects of a AAA title from conception to post-launch.

  • Build and guide a robust embedded team of QA Analysts, focusing on hiring, mentoring, training, and professional development.

  • Collaborate with analysts and game feature development teams to define requirements and specifications.

  • Anticipate bottlenecks, escalate to management, balance business needs against technical constraints, and foster partner engagement.

  • Collaborate with Development partners, balancing Development Support tasks with QA Delivery work.

  • Drive QA evolution through championing defect prevention/containment and test automation.

  • Ensure high-standard reporting with clear, concise, accurate, and actionable data.

  • Actively contribute to strategic planning and ensure plans, within quality and budget.

  • Define engagement practices and processes, ensuring workflow is clearly defined, documented, and the team is trained on workflow expectations.

  • Identify, communicate, and mitigate project delivery risks.

  • Proactively improve processes across the project, identifying patterns, and devising new solutions.

Key Requirements:

  • Passion for quality.

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent industry experience.

  • 5+ years of game or software development QA experience, including 2+ years in a lead/manager role.

  • Experience working with remote teams.

  • Experience with white-box/grey-box testing techniques.

  • Experience in coaching, mentoring, and career development.

Desirable:

  • Familiarity with applications such as JIRA, Confluence, DevTest, or TestRail.

  • Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).

  • Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools such as Power Bi.

  • Experience with test automation and telemetry systems.
