Quality Engineering (QE) plays a important role in guaranteeing software excellence for gaming applications through the creation of automated solutions and efficient tooling for optimal reliability and performance. The Quality Engineering Development Director reports to the Senior Development Director in Quality Verification (QV) and will lead multiple teams of software engineers to deliver automation and tooling solutions by overseeing project management, gathering requirements and strengthening relationships with development and quality verification partners, communicating status and risks, and contributing to the overall impact of the organization by collaborating on best practices for quality.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the full operational aspects of Quality Engineering planning in all development stages

  • Collaborate across a diverse group of project leaders and development partners

  • Align all involved teams towards the outlined goals and guide your team to achieve milestones at quality

  • Implement and share new ways of improving efficiency and increasing predictability

  • Experience using data to contribute to product quality and project efficiency; effective at understanding dashboards and measurements to guide decision-making

  • Change management, challenge is welcomed as an opportunity to guide strategic improvements and adoption

  • Mentor and support other leaders with diverse teams; build and mentor teams

You will:

  • Be a people manager who manages the performance and professional development of team members

  • Resolve challenges in a collaborative way, ensuring team satisfaction

  • Promote a culture of diversity and inclusion and maintain an environment that encourages creativity and respect

  • Ensure the team has the best practices that allow them to produce high-quality work, on time and on budget

  • Improve the efficiency and productivity through strategic problem solving to enable the team and processes to scale

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of project management experience

  • 5+ years of experience in a leadership/management role

  • 5+ years of people management experience

  • 3+ years of experience in software development or managing software development scrums

  • Experience in a Scrum/Agile software development environment

  • Proficiency with Jira/Jaas

  • Experience working in a global, distributed and matrix organization

BC COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

The base salary ranges listed below are for the defined geographic market pay zones in these locations. If you reside outside of these locations, a recruiter will advise on the base salary range and benefits for your specific location.

EA has listed the base salary ranges it in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in the locations listed, as of the time of this posting. Salary offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and business or organizational needs.

BASE SALARY RANGES

  • British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria): º $93,700 - $153,900 CAN Annually

Base salary is just one part of the overall compensation at EA. We also offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
