Gaming Partnerships Manager

Location: UK

Job Overview

As a Partnerships Manager, you will work in close collaboration with the Commercial Director to drive revenue growth at Dialect. We are seeking an individual who possesses extensive experience in establishing and nurturing senior-level commercial relationships within the video games industry. Your track record should demonstrate a proven ability to acquire, maintain, and optimise these relationships successfully. We value qualities such as energy, proactivity, and big picture thinking. Your unwavering desire to drive commercial growth via new business for our agency will be pivotal in this role.

You should possess specific knowledge and passion for the video games industry and a strong understanding of the latest digital platforms available to brands and players within this sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and own the AAA category at Dialect. Understanding how growth ties into sales is critical. You will work alongside the commercial director to quickly develop a category specific strategy that takes into account the competitive landscape and layers sales cycles to ensure quarterly targets are met whilst chasing down BIG longer term opportunities.

  • Opening doors at a senior level to allow conversations direct or with our divisional experts to unearth real opportunities with speed and efficiency

  • This would mean you hold an existing black book of contacts that you can activate immediately to Dialect relationship building status or straight into opportunity scoping

  • This requires you to be able to power up on our narrative and take this to market in adaptive ways in order to open up conversations - not always replying on our standard digital toolkits.

  • Whilst day to day takes place you would also spend time identifying (alongside Commercial Director) new and emerging markets to explore and adapt narrative accordingly

  • Building proposals and managing the internal pitch process on your opportunities, you will have support, especially early on but confidence and knowledge in order to be autonomous in this area is critical.

  • Ensure senior presence at key industry events and support sales teams in engaging high-level decision makers.

We understand that your role may require you to be frequently on the move, and as a result, finding time to input data may not always be a top priority. However, we have several systems that we prefer to keep updated to facilitate forecasting and prevent sales to existing relationships or leads:

  • Keep our systems up to date: We use Monday.com (for project management) Hubspot (for finance tracking), LinkedIn Premium (lead generation) and a number of other databases to identify key contacts.

  • Forecast accurately and be aware of not over promising. Factor pipelines and work with the Commercial Director to ensure targets across the year are achievable, exciting and incentivised accordingly.

  • Support the Commercial Director on sales goals, planning, and forecasting in order to refine and amend the agencies approach given market needs, client requests and industry movements

Job Specific Skills and Attributes

  • Senior-level Manager Experience: Minimum 5+ years of experience in a senior-level manager position targeting AAA video game publishers globally.

  • Proven Revenue Generation Results: Track record of achieving and exceeding revenue targets within the gaming sector.

  • A knack for story telling: understanding how to simplify narrative and communicate complex service offerings in a simple way

  • Authentic Knowledge of the Games Industry: including knowledge of primary brands, market trends, and emerging technologies.

  • Passion for Digital: Genuine interest and enthusiasm for all things digital, including new ways of working internally and client marketing and engagement opportunities externally.

  • Lead Generation and Prospect Management: Experience in generating leads and managing a pipeline of opportunities.

  • Excellent Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively engage and interact with potential customers. Including the ability to make persuasive sales calls, objection handle, deliver compelling presentations, and build rapport with clients.

  • Persuasiveness and Goal-Orientation: Ability to influence and persuade potential partners, coupled with a goal-oriented mindset.

  • Professional Communication at All Levels: Capable of professionally and confidently communicating with any level of a business.
