About the Role:

We are looking for a Music Designer to join our premier audio team at our flagship studio in Manchester. In this role, you will be the bridge between art and technology, liaising with external composers while providing your own original compositions for the Star Citizen and Squadron 42 universes.

Our projects are famously complex. You won’t just be “making music”; you’ll be helping build systems and tools that allow for nuanced, articulate, and reactive scores that bring our games to life.

What do our Music Designers do?

Achieve world-class music implementation across all areas of the project using Wwise and proprietary tools.
Provide additional music composition and editorial work when required.
Work closely with audio programmers to evolve our music tools and workflow.
Help outline, organise, and run music recording sessions.
Actively share your knowledge and experience to help the wider team make Star Citizen the best experience possible.

What do we expect of our Music Designers?

Proven experience in the games industry, ideally with a background in MMO, FPS, or Flight/Vehicle titles.
Mastery of DAWs (Reaper, Pro Tools, Cubase, etc.) and deep knowledge of digital instruments like Kontakt and Soft Synths.
Strong proficiency in Audiokinetic Wwise and experience with version control (Perforce preferred).
A deep understanding of music theory and the ability to compose across a wide variety of genres and production styles.
The ability to take ownership of audio systems and adapt to new, evolving development tools.

Please ensure your demo reel effectively displays your game-centric music design and implementation as well as your linear music composition skills.
