We have a state of the art studio located in the heart of the beautiful Gunwharf Quays in Portsmouth overlooking the Harbour.

We are seeking an experienced Technical Designer or Technical Level Designer, with proven technical design skills & experience working on Console titles, to join our award- winning team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a AAA IP where you will be responsible for working closely with and supporting the level design team and owning features from prototype phase and taking them into production. This is a great opportunity to work with a team of passionate and experienced designers on a AAA project

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create and maintain documentation for all owned features.

  • Keep to project vision for best practices, methodologies used and quality benchmark.

  • As part of reviews, able to provide constructive critique and solutions.

  • Regularly play the game and provide suggestions and feedback in a clear and constructive manner.

  • Ability to self-motivate as-well-as motivate other members of the team

Requirements

  • Experience working as a Technical Designer or Technical Level Designer on at least one published console title.

  • Experience of helping to plan and schedule workflows.

  • Proven experience working within Unreal Engine 5.

  • Strong proficiency at scripting with Blueprints.

  • Help set up and uphold Blueprint scripting best practices across the level design teamโ€™s missions.

  • Be able to take a feature from the vision phase to prototype and then into production.

  • Provide clear documentation for the level design team to follow that enables them to use your features in their levels.

  • Experience in scripting gameplay content in levels such as events, interactions, and encounters.

  • Be able to communicate with artists, programmers, and animators to create game ready features.

  • Experience with enemy placement/spawn points.

  • Level design experience for third person action games is a benefit.

  • Enjoys a creative challenge with the passion and motivation to make great games
