As a Principal Content Designer, you will join a new incubation design team to build activity prototypes and content roadmaps. While this role is predominantly an IC (Individual Contributor) role, this position lives in the pragmatic intersection of gameplay systems, narrative, and technical toolsets, and will have significant impact on the direction of the game. Most importantly, you will work with a fun, dedicated, and passionate cross-discipline team devoted to turning a creative dream into a new franchise at Bungie.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work closely with the project leads to uphold the vision of the game by deeply understanding the product and player needs.

  • Collaborate across multiple disciplines to create intrinsic joyful sandbox satisfaction and deepen connections between players in multiplayer spaces.

  • Define and drive player on-boarding experience design and live-service content roadmaps.

  • Provide clear goals and outcomes to teammates and build content to help sharpen vision where necessary.

  • Define content design craft bar through pillars, razors, and best practices to maintain consistency across the project.

  • Drive asks for tools improvements used to edit and maintain content and simulation data.

  • Collaborate daily with the team through nuanced feedback, design analyses, and frameworks.

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Embrace a "we" culture in addition to being an outstanding collaborator and communicator.

  • Experience with guiding project workflow improvements with a focus on force multiplying others.

  • Experience with Unreal Engine development and a track record of teaching and on-boarding other content designers.

  • Experience managing/mentoring junior designers through career growth systems.

  • Excellent design and production instincts, ability to anticipate how small content changes might impact the broader game experience.

  • Experience shipping live updates to a successful on-going game community.

NICE-TO-HAVE SKILLS

  • Interest in cozy, lighthearted simulation systems

  • Interest in dynamic/generative systems in simulation genres

  • Experience being part of online communities (guilds, clans, groups, etc) as a player or leader.

  • Interest in global gaming markets and the competitive gaming/esports landscape

Listed below is this role's base pay range. In other locations that Bungie has approved for remote work, this pay range may be adjusted up to +/- 10% and some roles may be classified as non-exempt (hourly). This range is determined by an array of factors, including training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, and market demands. Bellevue Pay Range

$187,000—$215,000 USD

Bungie full-time (non-contract) employees in the U.S. also receive:

  • 20 days of accrued time-off in the form of PTO and sabbatical days, depending on the level of the position

  • 10 paid Floating Days annually, prorated in the first year of employment based on start date

  • 10 paid Bungie-observed holidays annually

  • One hour of Paid Sick Time (PST) for every 30 hours worked

Contract and International FTE employees receive competitive benefits through their relevant contracting agency.
