We’re seeking a driven artist to help expand the Destiny universe through spectacular visual effects!

The ideal candidate brings a passion to learn advanced technical and artistic skills. The candidate understands how to work with a team and will be expected to learn the challenges of modern AAA game development to produce stunning in-game visual effects that support gameplay, cinematics, and environments.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work closely with the VFX Rewards Lead to author effect assets that enhance gameplay and storytelling

  • Use proprietary tools, DCC and Photoshop to create effects that balance the visual goals of the project with the performance demands of the game engine

  • Help develop Destiny’s visual language through the craft of visual effects

  • Build productive working relationships with your team

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • A portfolio or demo reel that demonstrates artistic and technical skills, as well as a firm grasp of timing and scale

  • A dedicated interest for games

NICE-TO-HAVE SKILLS

  • Be able to break down a visual effect into component content-types (particle FX, shader FX, mesh FX, post-process, animation, decal, lighting, etc.) and choose the right tools for the job

  • Programming or scripting experience in any language (C++ / Python / HLSL)

  • Animation background

  • Experience with Houdini, Fume FX, Maya fluids tools, or Substance Designer

Estimated Duration: 12 months

Listed below is this role's base pay range within the greater Seattle area. In other locations approved for remote work by Bungie and our external resource vendors, this pay range may be adjusted to the local market and some roles may be classified as non-exempt (hourly), This range is determined by an array of factors, including training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, and market demands. Additionally, it is subject to change and may be modified in the future. All benefits, perks, and time off are provided by and at the discretion of external resource partner(s).

Bellevue Pay Range

$78,000—$101,000 USD

Bungie full-time (non-contract) employees in the U.S. also receive:

  • 20 days of accrued time-off in the form of PTO and sabbatical days, depending on the level of the position

  • 10 paid Floating Days annually, prorated in the first year of employment based on start date

  • 10 paid Bungie-observed holidays annually

  • One hour of Paid Sick Time (PST) for every 30 hours worked

Contract and International FTE employees receive competitive benefits through their relevant contracting agency.
