We are seeking a skilled Vehicle Physics Programmer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate has demonstrated experience and passion for creating realistic and immersive vehicle experiences in video games or simulations. As a Vehicle Physics Programmer at BARB you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing the physics systems that govern the behaviour of various vehicles and diverse vehicle types for our games. You will work closely with game designers, artists, and other programmers to ensure a seamless integration of vehicle mechanics.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement vehicle physics systems using Chaos (UE) .

  • Collaborate with game designers to understand gameplay requirements and translate them into technical specifications.

  • Optimize vehicle physics algorithms for performance and realism.

  • Conduct testing and debugging to ensure accurate and reliable behavior of vehicles.

  • Work closely with artists to integrate vehicle models and animations with physics systems.

  • Stay updated on the latest advancements in vehicle simulation technology and techniques.

  • Provide technical support and assistance to other team members as needed.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.

  • Proficiency in programming languages such as C++, C#, or Python.

  • Strong understanding of physics principles, especially as they apply to vehicle dynamics.

  • Experience with physics engines such as Havok, PhysX, or Bullet.

  • Familiarity with game development tools and pipelines (Unity, Unreal Engine, etc.).

  • Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.

  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

  • Passion for video games and a desire to create immersive gameplay experiences.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working on vehicle simulation projects in the gaming industry.

  • Knowledge of advanced mathematics, including calculus and linear algebra.

  • Experience with 3D modeling and animation software
