Natural Environment Artist

Prague, Czech Republic · Intermediate (2–5 years) · Full Time ·

Join our team and help create the vast, realistic environments that define the Arma experience. As a Natural Environment Artist, you will be responsible for crafting high-quality vegetation, biome materials, and natural assets that support immersive open-world gameplay, while collaborating with designers and fellow artists to build believable and visually striking worlds.

Responsibilities:

  • General

    • Build game-ready optimized 3D open world game assets and environments based on provided design documents and feedback from lead artist and designers

    • Collaborate with other environment artists and map designers to built authentic looking worlds

    • Organize and maintain assets based on established conventions

    • Primary focus on vegetation and biomes, secondary on larger rocks

  • Vegetation

    • Follow and help improve in-house pipeline based on Blender and Substance Designer

    • Create high-quality vegetation assets (bushes, trees, plants, grass, tree debris, etc.) for Arma 4 and other titles on the Enfusion engine

    • Maintain and expand the existing vegetation asset library

    • Produce seasonal and destruction variants of existing and new vegetation assets

  • Biomes

    • Build rich and authentic looking biomes based on provided design documents

    • Create terrain PBR tileable textures combining photogrammetry and procedural workflows

    • Configure whole terrain materials for rich and natural-looking visuals across whole view distance

    • Create clutters and configure their procedural yet natural-looking distribution on terrain

  • Rocks

    • Create authentic looking rock assets for various environments/biomes

Requirements:

  • Portfolio featuring game-ready vegetation, terrain materials or rock assets

  • Expertise and extensive experience with highpoly-lowpoly modeling and PBR texturing workflows for open world game assets

  • Proficient in Blender and Substance Designer

  • Excitement to learn and share new techniques

Nice to have:

  • Expertise in photogrammetry (processing and collecting)

  • Experience with procedural vegetation creation

  • Experience with Substance Painter workflows
