You'll be creating in-depth analyses of weapons, vehicles, and military equipment which were used during the 1980’s and cooperating with multiple departments (Art, Audio and/or Design) to bring those assets to the game in an authentic, meaningful, and user-friendly form.
Job Description
Research of authentic visuals, historical context, and functionality of the assets depicted in-game:
Gathering, cataloguing, and maintaining references, and making them available to the team
Creating and maintaining research documents
Creating art asset analyses:
Creating and maintaining asset analyses pages in Confluence
Accompanying the pages with relevant references and gathering them on demand
Passing on analyses to the Art Department
Researching relevant points of interest:
Active search for useful points of interest, both publicly accessible and/or requiring additional administration
Gathering basic data for field trip preparations for the Production Dept. and Operations
Conducting reference gathering in the field by any relevant means (notes, drawing, recording, photography) based on specifications
Active cooperation with Creative Director, Art Dept., Design Dept., concept art services
Other tasks based on supervisor's requests
You are responsible for:
Delivering relevant, accurate, and well-documented research results
Delivering accurate and exhaustive art asset analyses to Art Dept.
Assisting in the maintenance of reference libraries; making sure they are well-structured and accessible
Presenting the findings in usable form based on requests from the team
Following common work safety
Requirements
Advanced knowledge of the modern military (1970s-1980s)
Advanced knowledge of the Arma series; ideally not only as a player, but as a content creator as well (missions, mods)
Ability to actively search for information online, in libraries, in archives, or in the field
Ability to critically interpret and categorize research findings
Good spoken and written English (certificates welcome for non-native speakers)
Good communication skills
Technical knowledge and special skills expected:
Excellent user-level office software skills
Basic camera operation skills (download and sort photos)
Nice to have
Languages: Czech - basic (read / write); proficiency in Russian and German
Active driver with class B driving license (CZ)
Photography or video recording and editing skills
2D (Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator) art skills
