Blizzard is on a quest to find a legendary Director, Brand Strategy who is a grandmaster at their craft. A solid professional who has helped launch and manage AAA games or entertainment brands. Someone that takes a proactive approach to help drive key activations with an understanding of the nuanced skills required to build an iconic brand and world world-class creative.

This Director should have 7+ years of experience and will lead development and growth of the Overwatch brand – specifically leading brand strategy for Overwatch 2. Overwatch helped reimagine an entire genre of gaming, and it's a global brand that inspired and is played by millions across the world. The ideal candidate will have a background in video game marketing or entertainment brands. This role will partner directly with Product Marketing, Brand Marketing, Content Marketing, Story & Franchise Development, Game, and Creative Services teams to evolve the Overwatch brand and bring it to life through all our channels and campaigns.

This person has experience developing breakthrough campaigns that captivate audiences and shape culture. Knowledge of the creative development process and what it takes to write a sound creative strategy brief is also crucial. You will oversee brand marketing strategy, working with internal and external creative partners. You will manage the overall process of brand positioning, brand identity development, ideation, testing, and execution of global campaigns.

This individual will need to contribute at the strategic creative level to drive brand marketing initiatives, collaborate with our development partners and lead agency partners, while having impeccable leadership and x-functional skills. Must be comfortable writing and presenting rationale to help drive consensus across all levels, including executive.


  • Oversee global brand strategy for Overwatch 2 with an emphasis on crafting breakthrough marketing campaigns, ensuring we captivate new audiences and break into pop culture

  • Develop global brand and messaging narratives to support business goals and drive revenue growth

  • Align with other functions to create a suite of brand partnerships that help achieve our strategic goals

  • Lead and foster a player first and player centric approach throughout the brand, ensuring we incorporate audience segments, behaviors and human truths in our marketing

  • Leverage data driven insights that weave in culture, creators, and content to fuel growth among a digitally native audience

  • Deliver innovative, new, and unexpected creative solutions that drive performance. Develop, test and rotate assets for optimal engagement based on learnings across markets and audiences

  • Act as a key strategic partner to a variety of internal colleagues, including senior management, brand and business leaders, analytics, publishing, development, and creative services teams

  • Work closely with regional partners, ensuring our marketing strategy is localized and adapted for our global markets


  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

  • 7+ years combined experience in entertainment, gaming, brand marketing, and creative agency strategy roles

  • Passion for entertainment, youth culture, gaming and particularly the Overwatch brand

  • Experience in navigating across multiple teams with strong ability to influence in a matrixed organization

  • Operational expertise in driving best-in-class marketing projects from ideation to execution, with no detail too small to overlook

  • Excellent communicator in both verbal/written skills and knows how to craft a narrative

In the U.S., the standard base pay range for this role is $134,000.00 - $247,900.00 Annual. These values reflect the expected base pay range of new hires across all U.S. locations. Ultimately, your specific range and offer will be based on several factors, including relevant experience, performance, and work location. Your Talent Professional can share this role’s range details for your local geography during the hiring process. In addition to a competitive base pay, employees in this role may be eligible for incentive compensation. Incentive compensation is not guaranteed.
