The Diablo IV team is looking for an Activities Designer who has an interest in creating compelling scripted repeatable content to help bring the world of Sanctuary to life as never seen before.

As a Content Designer on the Activities team in Diablo IV, you'll have a key role in crafting compelling end-game content for the game. Collaborating closely with the development team, you'll be involved in designing and bringing to life various activities and challenges to maintain player engagement well beyond the main storyline. Your creative input and meticulous approach will significantly impact the success of Diablo IV and contribute to the satisfaction of its player community.

This role is anticipated to be a hybrid work position, with some work on-site and some work-from-home. The potential home studio for this role is Irvine, CA, Austin, TX or Albany, NY.


  • Contribute to the design and development of engaging end-game activities, challenges, and experiences for players.

  • Generate ideas and design various activities like dungeons and events to offer diverse gameplay experiences.

  • Collaborate closely with the game balancing team to ensure end-game activities are appropriately challenging, rewarding, and satisfying for players.

  • Work alongside other designers, artists, producers, and engineers to implement activity designs seamlessly into the game world.

  • Maintain the design vision for your content while incorporating feedback from the team, leadership, and the studio.

  • Analyze player feedback and data to make continuous improvements and iterations to end-game content.

  • Develop and maintain design documents, level layouts, and scripting to effectively communicate with the development team.

What you bring:

  • 3-5 years of professional experience in game design, with a focus on end-game content.

  • Solid understanding and passion for the Diablo franchise, aligning end-game content with the series' identity.

  • Creative thinking to design engaging and enjoyable gameplay experiences.

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills for collaboration with cross-functional teams.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to addressing design challenges.

  • Desire to contribute to a positive, collaborative, and inclusive work environment.

Extra Points

  • Strong familiarity with text-based scripting languages; preferably LUA

  • Strong understanding of isometric ARPG gameplay

  • Knowledge of Blizzard worlds and gameplay values — specifically, within the gothic dark fantasy of Diablo

In the U.S., the standard base pay range for this role is $29.81 - $55.14 Hourly. These values reflect the expected base pay range of new hires across all U.S. locations. Ultimately, your specific range and offer will be based on several factors, including relevant experience, performance, and work location. Your Talent Professional can share this role’s range details for your local geography during the hiring process. In addition to a competitive base pay, employees in this role may be eligible for incentive compensation. Incentive compensation is not guaranteed.
