About Us:
Black Sun Productions is a new VR game development company specializing in adapting and enhancing existing PC games for virtual reality. We focus on bringing great existing 2D games to life in VR with new gameplay mechanics and storylines. We’re looking for a talented narrative designer / script writer to weave new story branches through an existing narrative and redesign a dual ending.
Project Overview:
This job focusses on a VR adaptation of a PC game inspired by Franz Kafka’s literature, specifically, The Metamorphosis and The Trail. This project involves the expansion and enhancement of the game's narrative, including the creation and adaptation of characters inspired by Franz Kafka's literary universe.
Role / Responsibilities:
Collaboratively work on the game's narrative, improving and expanding the storyline, including revising game’s endings.
Write scripts for approximately 10 new side quests - these quests involve a character which introduces the quest with a small backstory, minor background characters, and adjustments to other NPC characters in the surrounding landscape. Quests have been outlined but require dialog and backstory.
Ensure the narrative elements are well-integrated into the VR gameplay experience.
Requirements:
Must speak fluent / native English.
Proven experience in narrative design or scriptwriting, particularly for story-rich games or similar media.
A portfolio showcasing previous work in narrative design / script writing.
A deep appreciation and understanding of Franz Kafka’s literature.
Passionate about virtual reality and its potential in storytelling.
Ability to work remotely and collaborate with a distributed team.
Excellent communication and storytelling skills.
Ability to meet deadlines and adapt to feedback.
