The GUNDAM brand is one of BANDAI NAMCO’s most cherished and recognized IPs and we are seeking a marketing professional to expand product marketing support for GUNDAM games and maintain a productive and engaging relationship with current fans and creators.

Reporting to the Sr. Brand Manager, GUNDAM, the Associate Brand Manager, GUNDAM will lead live operation marketing support for current titles, assist in GTM planning, and own execution of future game and several IP growth-related releases.

This role requires management of agencies, product development relationships, close collaboration with our BANDAI NAMCO Community & PR Teams, Brand Development, Production, Licensing, Live Events, Legal, Creative Services, and global overseas counterparts.

Qualified candidates should be familiar with the GUNDAM brand, video gaming, pop culture, Japanese culture, and social media trends.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with the Product Marketing team and support all approved initiatives from translating marketing objectives into viable strategies and tactics for the game, maintaining and updating schedules, meeting KPIs, and updating documentation and communicating out often

  • Manage assets, internal resources and external agencies/vendors to successfully navigate all phases of product marketing, including all planning & project timelines related to creative development (ex. packaging/POP/POS), advertising, public relations, social media, special events, and trade and consumer promotions

  • Track and report KPIs and marketing expenses against defined budgets and forecasts overtime, while keeping stakeholders informed

  • Create, proofread, and edit copy for several marketing and community channels ensuring consistent voice and alignment with strategy

  • Assist in identifying and resolving ongoing issues within the GUNDAM community while collecting feedback for live operation games and IP growth initiatives

  • Help organize and participate in consumer-facing activations including digital-events, contests, live streams and live events to build lasting relationships and advocacy amongst our fans

  • Connect with the global GUNDAM Stakeholders at HQ and facilitate communications and content/proposal approvals with other territory leads

  • Event presence and some domestic and international travel is required for this position

  • Experience with Japanese licensors and Japanese language fluency is a plus

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This is an individual contributor position.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

  • 3+ years of experience in video game or entertainment marketing; with social, community or influencer management experience being a plus

  • Background and knowledge of marketing fundamentals including market analysis, positioning, strategic planning, advertising, and PR

  • Successful examples of project management and P&L management, preferably during game releases or live operations

  • Experience with digital marketing across web, console, and social including working with online/digital marketplaces, developing digital content strategies, executing launches of supportive and standalone digital releases

  • Knowledge of and expertise in online marketing platforms including SEM, SEO, and analyzing and interpreting data from Google Analytics and other Analytics solutions

  • Understand and leverage pivot tables and basic statistics

  • Understanding of sales and channel marketing (physical and digital) within the video game industry, as well as experience marketing and launching digital products

  • Experience working successfully with social media channels, influencer management, and editorial personnel, preferably in conjunction with PR and community plans is a plus

  • Extensive knowledge or interest in video gaming, interactive entertainment industry and/or Japanese animation (preferred)

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Advertising, or related field

  • or equivalent work experience in the video game and/or entertainment industry

Salary Range: $82,147 - $104,641

Actual base salary will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, but not limited to, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and business or organizational needs. The salary range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees and it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
