Elsewhere Entertainment is looking for a Principal Technical Designer to join the development of a new IP.

As a member of the Technical Design department, you’ll cover creation of variety of systems - quests, crowds, living world, encounters, world interactions, RPG stats and abilities. You will also be responsible for working on prototype mission, supporting gameplay and art team from early conception to final execution.
Also, you’ll contribute to take the studio and our game from great to even better—with a focus on inclusivity, mutual respect (for ourselves and our players), thoughtfulness, empathy, integrity, and collaboration.
You’ll help us by…
Partner with the Gameplay Director and Content Director to set the overall vision and direction for gameplay and content designs.
Take ownership of creating technical design rules and principles for the whole game.
Work together with other teams on technical solutions, pipelines and tools supporting gameplay and content design implementation.
Take ownership of technical design in a gameplay prototype – from ideation to final quality implementation.
Support hires, training and mentoring of technical designers.
Analyze, pitch, prototype, and develop technical design features, systems and tools for an unannounced AAA project.
Create one-page pitches, tools & pipelines briefs, system outlines, and whatever other communication tools are vital for succinctly and effectively communicating technical design.
Leverage technical expertise to implement systems in proprietary tools.
Collaborate with multiple fields, ensuring partners are involved and informed throughout development.
Provide regular active feedback across all of your features, and across the game as a whole.
Remain current on industry trends including new game genres, new game design techniques, and trending audio-visual excellence.
You’re awesome because you have…
Proven experience (10+ years) shipping AAA titles in lead technical design roles.
Proven experience driving technical design teams and technical pipelines.
Ability to communicate design vision and to align vision within the team.
Experience with versatile game development tools such as Unity, Unreal, or similar proprietary tools.
Extensive player experience with games, including action, RPG, open world, and online titles.
Extraordinary self-motivation and initiative, and a positive demeanor in the face of challenges.
Experienced in developing multiplayer games and understand the functioning of client – server architecture.
High understanding of complex performance issues behind game content implementation.
