What We Need

This role is part of the 2K Growth Strategy team that is responsible for title P&L’s, business strategy, and commercial operations globally. We partner across the organization to align on business objectives and then execute against them with efficiency. The Senior Director, Growth Strategy will lead 2K’s strategy and growth initiatives for AAA Sports and Strategy products across various business models.

This position will be based onsite in Novato (Bay Area) 3 days/week.

What You Will Do

  • Lead and manage the Growth Strategy team for sports titles. This role is directly accountable for commercial operations for multiple $100M+ global game franchises.

  • Drive growth and alignment internationally with our global counterparts and territory teams responsible for a $500M+ segment of our business.

  • Serve as 2K’s expert on core sectors of the gaming industry, including prevailing and emerging business models, genres, developers and publishers

  • Partner with teams leads across the Game Studio, Marketing, Finance, Product Development (PD), Legal and other key stakeholders to develop high impact, player friendly commercial strategies

  • Lead strategic planning and commercial prototyping for both innovating on existing business models and exploring new potential business models and opportunities

  • Identify key trends and opportunities throughout the user funnel, including sales, engagement, retention and monetization

  • Partner with PD, Analytics and other live services teams to develop compelling, comprehensive franchise-level live services strategies covering in-game stores, limited time modes and events, objectives systems and personalized communications

  • Partner with Performance Marketing, Social, CRM and Brand to develop, execute and optimize out-of-game engagement and retention tactics across social media, influencer, email and other channels

  • Manage and guide work-flow prioritization for the team’s planners, strategists and analysts to maximize impact and ensure timeliness of deliverables

  • Exceed sales and revenue targets by persistently driving incremental engagement, retention and monetization optimization

  • Establish and evaluate long term vision for each franchise, determining the financial potential for each release and the opportunities and risks most impactful to the P&L

  • Maximize user acquisition throughout each title’s lifecycle through optimized full game promo roadmaps and 1P subscription offerings

  • Maximize global user engagement, retention and monetization through optimization of existing features, content planning and live events, as well as collaborating on the development of new features/content/events

  • Drive incremental regional user engagement, retention and monetization via compelling and rewarding region-specific promotions and events

  • Maintain organizational visibility and alignment on product and content performance, new/potential optimization opportunities, execution efficacy, and forward-looking feature prioritization

What Will Make You A Great Fit

  • 10+ years of professional experience in fast-paced, dynamic, consumer-focused technology companies; ideally some of that in gaming

  • 5+ years of experience with lifecycle marketing/management or customer growth roles

  • 5+ years managing, hiring and scaling teams for customer delight

  • Proven leadership and influence with cross-functional, operating teams that built execution success with positive teamwork and morale

  • Strong analytical, quantitative skills and business judgment to model sophisticated scenarios and apply insights to strategy and planning

  • Investment banking experience is a plus

  • Past roles with global execution is a plus

  • Past roles with start-ups is a plus

The pay range for this position in California at the start of employment is expected to be between $195,000 and $275,000 per Year. However, base pay offered is based on market location, and may vary further depending on individualized factors for job candidates, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to those same considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a bonus and/or equity awards, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
