What We Need

The Director of Global Digital Marketing for 31U, reporting to the Senior Director of Marketing, plays a crucial role in integrating social, community, and influencer/creator marketing throughout the game's lifecycle. Serving as the key liaison between digital community marketing and the global integrated marketing team, this role involves project management, timeline building, and optimizing workflows to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.

You will be responsible for leading campaign social strategy, integrating social plans with creator + influencer teams, and collaborating with our community platforms + content teams focused on Twitch, Discord and Reddit to amplify efforts and build consumer affinity. The director will work closely with cross-functional teams, including live service, go-to-market and global and territory marketing teams. Proactivity, excellent communication skills, and the ability to navigate ambiguity are crucial for success in this strategic and hands-on role.

The director is tasked with developing the global digital marketing strategy for continuous brand and game awareness, emphasizing an always-on, innovative approach. Responsibilities extend to prioritizing channels, social content strategy, and connecting the dots between social channels, community and influencer/creator marketing. Collaboration with the Live Service marketing team is essential to develop strategies and executions that enhance performance.

As the chief strategist and project manager, you will draft and update holistic Global Digital Community Marketing plans to reflect the needs of new seasons, adaptations and platform evolutions. Oversight of social platforms includes Instagram/Reels, Twitter, TikTok, YouTube and Facebook. It is crucial that you have a fast ability to identify and communicate emerging social media trends and platforms that will enable us to connect deeper with our players and fans. You will also be responsible for managing the social marketing team and closely work in partnership with community and influencer marketing leads.

This role takes ownership of the analysis and reporting process across all organic social platforms, implementing optimizations, driving real-time testing and learning, and educating cross functional teams on digital marketing value and strategies. You will be responsible for developing and implementing platform-specific global strategies to increase our presence across social channels and build the brand’s cultural presence. The role involves frontline communication, managing cross-functional timelines, fostering collaboration, and working closely with Global PR, paid media, and Global Marketing to build holistic plans.

What You Will Do

  • Lead and develop campaigns as the driver of our Digital Community Marketing hub, which will include social, community, creator / influencer marketing leads, working as one holistic team.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to prioritize and streamline digital community marketing efforts, both for annual campaigns and 365 brand building.

  • Thoughtfully steer and build campaigns from audience insights that align with our identified target audiences, as well as help to continue evolving and identifying those audience needs.

  • Set KPIs, benchmarks, metrics that matter, goals and objectives for all campaigns in partnership with our insights team.

  • Report on aggregated insights that help to set digital marketing storytelling

  • Manage and optimize campaign reporting and tracking, building dashboards and effective workflows for the team to streamline reporting.

  • Build and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.

  • Lead cross-functional communication to connect Global Marketing teams with all DCM teams, managing expectations, timelines and needs of the team to execute properly.

  • Drive long-term planning and execution for forward-thinking strategies YoY.

  • Oversee and steer creative ideation and social content development needed to to launch best-in-class campaigns.

  • Serve as the go-to liaison for all things Digital Marketing, working closely with functional leads and partners to bring their POV and expertise to life within campaigns.

Who Will Be A Great Fit

  • A proven track record (8-10+ years) as a Global digital marketing leader in games, live service products, media, entertainment or an adjacent industry.

  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to build long-term relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Experience working in companies and teams with complex business models, rapidly shifting priorities, and where change is the norm.

  • A reputation for successfully driving results in dynamic environments with a high degree of ambiguity and limited given direction.

  • Strong knowledge and proficiency with social publishing and reporting tools, with a keen sense of what, why and how metrics need to be delivered on.

  • Knowledge and experience working within entertainment, gaming or adjacent industries is a plus.

The pay range for this position in California at the start of employment is expected to be between $150,000 and $220,000 per Year. However, base pay offered is based on market location, and may vary further depending on individualized factors for job candidates, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to those same considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a bonus and/or equity awards, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
