The Operations Team is responsible for project managing the business units workload (and resourcing needs) to achieve B/U objectives on time, within scope, and on budget. This team will create effective and efficient scalable processes and frameworks to enable best in class product management & marketing, coupled with real-time learning and organizational transformation, enabling us to deliver 2K’s first top-rated, F2P, fully live-service game.
The Operations team is divided into 2 sub-teams: Game-Operations (‘Producers’) and Business-Operations (‘Managers’).
What We Need
Director, Business Operations with a focus on delivering outcomes consistently and predictably in an extremely fast paced and every changing environment. You will help manage the day-to-day business operations working to support productivity, with primary responsibility for coordinating the timely delivery of critical BU marketing and business initiatives. This will be done through process development and refinement, milestone mapping, coordination and communication across key stakeholders around the globe.
First-level strategic leader who can provide direction for the team to meet business objectives. Success depends on the collective performance of the team(s), not a single individual.
A specialist in driving cross-functional projects, strategic & tactical, and a capable problem solver used to managing multiple tasks & projects to completion while navigating opposing demands and priorities.
Regularly handling the oversight of global projects with interdepartmental collaboration, you will have excellent relationship building & stakeholder management skills and must have the confidence to work independently and across various levels. A proactive and detail oriented strategic planner with excellent project management, planning and decision making skills. You will also have proven experience in managing multiple direct reports, helping to mentor and grow them, while providing guidance on career and performance.
What You Will Do
Collaborate across the BU team to scale business operations for a F2P full live service game.
Support the Operations function for all cross-functional projects:
Providing clear articulation on marketing projects and the desired outcomes.
Create standard operating procedures, and templates for materials (as needed).
Track progress, resolve delays and risk when possible, and quickly escalate when not.
Strive for consistency and predictability in all things.
Be highly adaptable to changing priorities, scope and deadlines.
Develop and maintain comprehensive project documentation, plans, timelines and reports, ensuring transparency and effective communication across the b/u and wider organization.
Ensure a single source of truth for projects to enable accurate information sharing.
Single source of truth to include roadmaps, calendars, key artifacts (documents), shared Google drive, and the project Confluence page.
Coordinate with internal and shared service partners across Game Operations, Product Management, Marketing, Commercial, Analytics, First Party Partnerships, Comms, Player Services, User Research, User Testing, QA and Creative teams to ensure alignment and facilitate timely execution of milestone deliverables.
Establish processes, templates and timelines to fit Marketing requirements and eliminate silos through shared resources (‘Source of Truth’) to provide a unified view .
Proactively identify, track and drive resolution of blocking issues for Business and Marketing projects by surfacing issues and risks early to ensure prompt resolution and minimize the impact on project timelines/deliverables.
Manage phase readiness trackers to ensure all team members are aware of key milestone deliverables.
Implement and refine best practices and methodologies, driving a consistent approach across the team, while allowing room for flexibility as needed.
Collaborate with the Operations Leads to align project objectives with the business unit goals, and provide regular progress updates to the leadership team.
In particular, regular coordination with the Game Operations Team/Leads - to ensure consistent ways of working, providing overarching milestone mapping coordination (e.g. monitoring product milestones that directly impact marketing such as game development milestones that allow for creative capture etc).
Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members, enhancing their skills and professional growth.
Coordinate with Program Managers across the wider publishing organization to ensure a holistic approach (where possible) for working with for example, Shared Service Teams. Facilitate knowledge transfers and relevant documentation/templates between teams.
What Will Make You a Great Fit
7+ years of experience in internal or external game development or publishing role
3+ years of experience working on a Live game or service
Experience building and managing relationships with studios, vendors, internal teams, and other external resources
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written), time and project management skills
Experience shipping console & PC or mobile titles and detailed knowledge of those platforms
Ability to assess quality and foresee development challenges at all phases of product development
Expected to identify and then take ownership of any responsibilities that lie within the scope of the project and are not currently assigned
Must demonstrate strong fiscal sense, in leading budget and scope expectations both within the team and to executive management
Experience with industry-first parties (Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo) seeing projects from concept to gold master
Bonus Points
Experience with AAA products
Proven track record of using analytics to drive data informed product decisions.
Experience with F2P game system development titles.
Highly knowledgeable of game industry trends.
Passion for multiplayer online video games.

The pay range for this position in California at the start of employment is expected to be between $183,300 and $265,000 per year. However, base pay offered is based on market location, and may vary further depending on individualized factors for job candidates, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to those same considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a bonus and/or equity awards, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an "at-will position" and the company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
