Full Stack Web Development

This is an educational program open to anyone interested in learning more about full stack web development. You do not need to be a resident of the United States or an existing UCI student to enrol in it, and you do you not need to be of typical college age. It is intended to equip aspiring and new professionals, as well as those switching industries, with the skills they need to succeed in the workplace.

The Full Stack Web Development certificate from the University of California, Irvine’s Department of Continuing Education equips students with the tools and skills required to build websites and apps. This 3-12 month program begins with the basics of front-end languages before diving deeper into back-end coding frameworks. This course consists of two mandatory courses and one elective course.

Introduction of Web Programming with HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and React (2 Units)

  • This course teaches three web development programming languages: HTML, CSS and JavaScript, as well as programming concepts and skills required for web development. Introductions to more complicated topics will also be introduced, culminating in the student being able to create web-based applications.

Advanced React (2 Units)

Introduction to SQL Programming (2.5 Units)

  • This course will teach students the fundamentals of SQL programming, a language frequently used to query and interrogate data. Database administration, T-SQL language components and exercises in building queries to read data will also be covered.

Course Benefits:

  • Students who finish this course will have the full suite of skills to create websites and apps, as well as the knowledge to troubleshoot and maintain web-pages.
  • Learn to code in several key programming and data-base languages and tools used in a whole host of online applications.
  • Software and web based engineering makes up a large proportion of esports and gaming jobs, and this trend is not likely to change, meaning these skills are only likely to become more valuable.
  • Candidates with full stack skills will have an easier time finding programming jobs to apply for, which are usually lucrative and offer great room for advancement.
