- The studio announced the cuts via X, calling it "a necessary step to help ensure the sustainability of the company" and saying its priority would be to support impacted employees throughout the process.
- Directive 8020, a sci-fi horror entry in the Dark Pictures Anthology that launched in May 2026, received mixed reviews and failed to gain significant sales traction. Samuels stepped down as CEO in June, roughly six weeks after launch. The studio has not announced its next project, though a teaser hidden at the end of Directive 8020 hints at something in development.
