Zynga is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to improve core systems and optimize the performance of a game client built with Unity.
Role
- Client-side Systems and Performance Engineer
- Individual Contributor, working under a Technical Lead and Engineering Manager
Responsibilities
- Design, improve, and extend core systems in Unity and C#
- Proactively optimize memory, CPU, GPU, and network utilization on a variety of devices
- Actively monitor application performance and stability, and resolve emergent issues
- Resolve low-level issues with minimal guidance
- Integrate new technologies and tools
- Maintain and update the platform and integrated systems
- Define the scope of large efforts with minimal direction
- Provide feedback to peers on their software design and implementation
- Give tech talks about systems that you develop and challenging problems you resolve
- Mentor other engineers
Required Skills
- B.Sc. in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent education / work experience
- 6+ Years game industry / mobile app experience as a software developer
- Shipped titles and/or live games experience
- 3+ Years Unity experience
- Solid foundation in data structures, algorithms and software design principles
